Hmm...its a sliding. Unless you are cutting 4x4s everyday...it does 90% off the cuts I need. and it weighs less.

I'm in remodeling and we use 12" saw only for crown. The rest is done with 7 ¼ sliding Ryobi. Though I'd suggest to do research about this particular saw. I saw one video on YouTube with someone showing how oil drips out of this brand new saw. Not sure that it's necessarily deal breaker so do your own research

I just framed my basement and installed trim with this saw. Worked great for 95% of the cuts. Only issues was cutting some 2x4s at an angle in which case just had to flip them. The size of the saw was ideal to throw out of the way when not in use, plus not having to haul down my 12" Dewalt was great.

It's a great saw, cuts 2*8*8 with the max battery and a good diablo blade

I'm not sure about the price, but this saw appears to be fully loaded with options

Should probably add that the saw is 18v cordless to the title. This makes it a better deal imo

Yes I saw that. The reviews overall are excellent. could be just a bad patch of o-rings. Its life time warranty.

Are you using the 18v Ryobi? How does it perform?

This is a great saw for construction work or if you only want to have one miter saw. It's tough, battery powered, and much easier to lug to and around a job site than a 10 inch or 12 inch saw. Plus 7 1/4 inch blades are ubiquitous and cheap. And it's accurate enough for trim work, and because it's a slider you can still cut 2 x 8 joists without flipping (and 2 x 12s if you're willing to flip).

If you're doing furniture or something else that is super precise though I'd buy a higher end plug-in saw with a bigger blade. The best use for this saw is construction.

I'm not sure what your point is. You get a battery operated saw and nailer for the price. Is there a better deal?
