Yes I saw that. The reviews overall are excellent. could be just a bad patch of o-rings. Its life time warranty.

Are you using the 18v Ryobi? How does it perform?
We using corded version. Really good saw. Especially I like the light on it. Really helpful. But I dropped it once and all the preset angles got thrown off, so had to manually set the correct angles, which gets annoying after awhile. Just bought cordless version. Will see how it holds up. So far I had a lots of success with Ryobi tools

I have had this saw for 5ish years whenever they released it years ago. Its great for what it is. I've migrated to milwaukee for every thing else but this saw still makes the trip to every job site with me.

Its the best functionality vs size that I've found. You can cut everything but crown with it while it weights half or a third of a big 10/12 inch slider.

If anyone is on the fence and in the Ridgid ecosystem go ahead and get it you won't regret it.

I wish there was a way to just get the saw. I already have a nailer and don't need it... Reselling is a pain though

I have both of these tools.

The saw is OK but no one could reasonably describe it as much more than adequate. It is lightweight and very portable. Power is not abundant, but it gets the job done so long as it's used with tempered expectations. The blade deflection can be significant if the slide action is pushed too hard. A light touch will get reasonably accurate performance.

The brad nailer is a little bit touchy. It will misfire(not shoot) more often than it should and sometimes the only way to get it to "reset" is to pop out the battery and reinsert. It is also quite heavy and bulky compared to an air brad nailer.

I consider both tools to be ultra portable and are forgiven their shortcomings as such. However, a full size sliding compound saw and an air nailer are not going to become obsolete on account of these.

I use this saw all the time. Light weight makes this so nice vs having to break out a 10 or 12 set up.

The miter saw is interesting for something extra portable. No need for the nailer. Searching HD, the saw looks to be 329 on its own, while its Ryobi sibling is 239. And there's the 10" Ryobi with battery and charger for 10 bucks more. :/

But why would you want a 10 inch battery-powered miter saw? The whole point of a battery powered miter saw is portability - and a 10 inch one is just not that portable. If you're doing precision work in a workshop, then a wall-plug is better.

Buy them refurbished or on ebay or marketplace..

Other than that watch out for Home Depot daily deals. I got a 4 pack of the 6 AH max output batteries this year for $289

I have this saw and have been very happy with it. As far as know it is only cordless miter that is dual bevel. (Maybe the larger Milwaukee and makita ones are, but they are much more $). Build quality is just as good as my dads cordless Dewalt. Saw is super lite and easy to move around which makes it convenient for small out door projects where lugging a heavy corded slider wouldn't be worth the hassle. I paid this price for mine with out the nailer and I have never regretted it.
Shadow line is great too, my larger hitachi doesn't have that, I will not buy another miter without that feature.
Sure 7 1/4 has it limitations but I rarely run into them. My 12" slider hardly ever gets used now, this is my go to saw.
