Corded-like power for a Flexvolt circular saw. Good price, matches previous Woot price for Frontpage deal. Limited sale through 6/10 or until sold out!

Woot is owned by Amazon, where non-authorized sellers usually sell for $175 range.

Woot also has the 3/9Ah [woot.com] ($122.99) and 4/12Ah [woot.com] ($199.99) batteries on sale.

Home Depot sells for $269 (DEWALT FLEXVOLT 60V MAX Cordless Brushless 7-1/4 in. Circular Saw with Brake (Tool Only) DCS578B - The Home Depot [homedepot.com])

No worries, I did the math for you. This dewalt saw is $145 + the 60 volt battery on woot $122.99 = $267.99 + state sales tax.

So the question is: is this worth price to cut the cord? Or can you get by with your electric cord model you bought for $60?

For many people, it comes down to more than the price. If you need to use it in a place where you don't have power readily accessible (think new construction build, etc.), you may need the battery version (and in those cases, you may already have batteries, negating the extra cost of the battery). For others, the cord may get in the way of your work and you may just want the battery version as well. On the flip side, some may like the ergonomics of the lighter-weight corded models without the battery, etc. If you do have/get corded models, know that there are different amperages for power that will determine how powerful the saw is. This 60v model pretty much compares to the higher-end of corded versions, whereas 20v models are on the lower end in terms of power. A nice middle ground are the Flexvolt Advantage and Power Detect versions that use 20v, but draw higher amps when paired with Flexvolt or certain other high-amp capable batteries. Given this sale, if you're looking for cordless, this 60v is the way to go. If you don't have the need for cordless or don't have existing batteries and don't need to buy them for other tools in the Flexvolt 60v line, you may want to stick with cordless, especially for the occasional DIY use where you don't need the extra power.
