I respect AC/DC, but man that voice is like nails on a chalkboard to me. One of the few instant change the station bands for me. I just picture someone stepping on a cat to get it to sing.

You are almost certainly talking about Brian Johnson. Bon Scott was their lead singer on High Voltage, Let There Be Rock, and Dirty Deeds, and was one of the great front men of all time.

The Bon Scott years were the best. However, Back in Black was pretty badass. Unfortunately, I never got to see them in the early years, but did several times with Johnson.
