I have the 7000 which is $35 with the coupon and I'd recommend that one over this one, says washable attachments on the 5000 but the 7000 says fully washable trimmer.

I have used it in the shower several times and it still works great, also according to the specs, battery lasts longer.

I just got the 7000 also and one word of caution for people who have used the older models. I have used previous 3000 and 5000 series but the attachments broke so I purchased the 7000 to replace the last one. The old models used to have a single attachment that you can adjust the length in 1mm increments but these new models no longer have that. These new models only have one length and you have to switch them each time you want a certain length. What even worse is that they don't give you enough different lengths for one mode, so if you want to cut your hair with 12mm and then go to 1mm or 3mm, you need to not only switch the attachment but also the blade head because the wider hair blade doesn't have a 1mm or 3mm attachment. Pretty stupid design and decision.

TLDR - These new models use single length attachments compared to previous models with adjustable attachments. These make the new models a PITA to use compared to the old models.

I purchased the 9000 at $45 from Costco. It's a good deal. But I need suggestions for adjustable trimmer. I find dealing with various attachments for daily use a hassle. Appreciate if you have recommendations

Get a Panasonic if you have thicker hair/beard. All the Norelco ones are weak. I have spent too much money on stupid Norelco products

Well damn, looked over and I have this on the sink.

I bought this 3 or 4 years ago and some for xmas presents for a few people and they are great.

I like shaving with this and no attachments a few times a week and it is a very nice trimmer.

I would recommend this or the 7000 if you are looking for an xmas present for someone as it really is a great trimmer.
