There is no benefit to wiring more than one Sonos speakers. If none are wired and no Sonos boost is used, the music is transmitted over your standard WiFi in your home. If one speaker or a boost is wired then they create their own Sonos mesh WiFi to transport and keep music in sync. You can look it up. I did several years ago because I also hardwire almost everything. Unless something changed when they moved to the Sonos 2 app there is no way to force them all to use the wired connection. Just wire the most convenient one. After installing the Sonos boost, my netgear Orbi system shows all the speakers as hardwired since they're using their own mesh system. Hope this saves some people time and the hassle of thinking you need to wire them to have solid performance.

I have two of these along with the lamp version. Overall I really like the devices and from an ease-of-use standpoint, nothing is better. Every smart speaker I've owned has given me or a family member trouble at one time or another, usually having to do with updating. Never once with the IKEA/Sonos setup. I also love that the frames have ethernet ports so you're not forced into a wifi setup! I hardware everything I can in my home. They sound amazing too.

One negative I do have is how far they stick out from the walls. The back doesn't sit flush with the frame so seeing them from the sides isn't the best option.

Just by scanning your Ikea member card, most purchases get an automatic 5% off. Normally it says sales and 5% doesn't stack, but it did stack for me today. The 5% off is only available in store; you don't get the discount if ordering online for in-store pickup.

Traditional surround sound has 5 speakers. C, FL, FR, RL, RR, sub. For Sonos 5.1, a soundbar (model depends on room size and some other criteria), RL, RR, Sub could suffice. FL and FR would enhance the experience.

You can use Sonos with your prewired setup.
You would use a combination of either Sonos amps or Sonos ports with a multichannel amp. I would need to know how many speakers. And also how many zones you want to be independent. I.e. volume control. The more individual zones the more expensive it gets.

How many speakers, how many zones?
Do you have any in wall volume control knobs?
What is your current amp?

I guess an epic fail for me. Bought $100 gift card, and got the $15 bonus. Didn't realize (nor does it seem to obviously state) that it takes up to 48hrs for the card to arrive via email. Put in the $15 card while I waited for the other to arrive in my email. Website timed out and now it won't accept even my $15 card as if it's already been used.

Sitting with $115 in unusable gift cards for an ikea sale that ends tonight. Surely they're non refundable. Feeling a little bit dooped

Same issue for me, used Apple Pay - got the message saying in review. They cancelled it today because of undisclosed reason of why credit card got declined and customer service says cannot get the same price anymore or reinstate the order.
