Please excuse any errors as this is my first post of a deal. I've been looking for these for the last couple months and finally found them at a decent price.

Note: The price on amazon has been fluctuating by the day so hopefully it stays at this price for a bit. Also, these are the SmartTag (regular), NOT plus version.

Yes, but you need a Samsung phone to setup and use these.

They use Bluetooth not GPS, so you'll only be able to track it if there are other Samsung devices with Bluetooth enabled nearby the device to provide the location.

Also need to be careful about privacy laws. California has some pretty crazy ones about tracking people without their knowledge, even if it's your car. So, if you lend your car to a friend and are able to track them without their knowledge, you could be breaking the law.

you should get smart tag+ , it use ultra wideband from other samsung phone to locate it. I think smart tag only rely on your phone Bluetooth. it won't work well in winter tho , the cold weather kills the battery fast... I have tried it

yep you can, as long as someone with a compatible Samsung device walks by it for their bluetooth to ping off it. Samsung smarttag works off the community (just like Apple air tags) so your luggage being in a highly populated area will get many pings, allowing you to see the location of it.

Your comment cannot be blank.

Opposite experience for me with the Samsung Smart Tags. Packed them in luggage/backpack while traveling to SF and they pinged the entire trip, regardless of how near/far I was from them. Pinged all day long in my hotel room from various Galaxy users passing by. Also tracked them on all flights, which let me know my checked bags boarded with me. Highly recommend them.
January 19th, 2021 - Samsung releases Galaxy SmartTag [samsung.com]

April 30th, 2021 - Apple launches AirTag [apple.com]

Who's copying whom?
The only issue I've had with these is when they are close to dying, I've never seen it go into the low battery phase. It just stops tracking no notification or anything. Instead, it shows the last location of when it was on as if that's its current location.

Curious why it says batteries not included but the same bought drom.samsung and others always come with batteries.

I have used these and they are not full proof but they do work with my Samsung s22 and s10. Samsung actually sent me two free when I bought my s10 direct from Samsung years ago.

Think I will bite. It is a return til 1/31/23..

Why not?

This is an honest question. It is WAY cheaper than from Samsung or anyone else at the moment.

I was waiting for a deal on the plus version but this is for the price of two of those. I'll probably bite even though the plus version has the precision location option.

You're risking getting a knock off, copy, pretending to be the original thing which tends to be inferior.

Why not what? I was pointing out a fact not suggesting you do or don't purchase.

That said, third party sellers on Amazon can be the Wild West, with poor customer service and terrible return policies on faulty or incorrect products. Amazon rarely helps. YMMV, but you can't say you haven't been warned.
Sorry, I meant to ask the other person. I'm curious now. I buy and return items from Amazon all the time. I just click the "return" button, select how I want the money back and my return method. I've never had a return issue with Amazon before. Maybe it is because I buy from "Prime Sellers" or items marked as "Prime"?

"Return this item for free
Free returns are available for the shipping address you chose. You can return the item for any reason in new and unused condition: no shipping charges"

So, why would you not buy this from a 3rd party seller? If the item is used or linked to another account, I can return it. Is there a specific reason as to why you stated this?

I am asking this for my own edification. Thanks in advance.
