Porter cable is g2g. They got 5 years of abuse in the hvac field and still run strong. My impact was tapped to together and still functioned

Seems that Porter Cable's parent company Black and Decker is phasing out the brand and there might not be long term support. Part of buying a power tool system is that you want to be able to use and add tools over the next few years.

To my knowledge, there are no other tools to add to your porter cable collection besides these ones.
Therefore batteries would be your only issue. Fortunately you only need to make one small cut to the B&D batteries to make them work in these tools. Same if you want to use these batteries in B&D tools.
