That's a good price, but ATT version doesn't seem to have n41 or n71 bands that TMo uses for regular 5G and only one of the 3 bands for 5G UC.

I have one of these and it's the best hotspot ever. I found somebody online to do the IMEI change, and I'm running it on the AT&T $20 a month tablet plan.

I just got one from Amazon. Put my Unlimited Premium SIM in it, will not connect. Says Partner LTE. myATT shows M6 pro as the device though. Need to activate the device?

I am now wondering this myself lol. Anyone used this with a "cheaper" (than cable/fiber hybrid) mobile unlimited plan as a primary and substitute for their internet? Are speeds stable? Any idea of average speeds? Any major drawbacks? At $175 for a refurbished I'm seriously considering calling ATT to see if I can get that tablet plan mentioned above lol

You can if you are good at tinkering, and don't mind if they shut it down later. With using hotspots as home internet its always a cat and mouse game, but certainly doable and you can save a decent chunk of change. But if you do any kind of online gaming the ping is going to suck as compared to cable or fiber.

see my previous comment. You will need a real tablet with a valid IMEI to get the plan. Speed/stability are entirely dependent on your location, even down to the exact house you live in so no one can give you actual feedback on how your service is going to be.

Thanks. The potential latency/ping issue would definitely be a problem for me. I didn't see the tablet obstacles so ty for reference. As far as speeds I was just wondering if, in general it was like sub 50mbs or can get much higher like into hundreds etc. I know any specifics or even specific ballpark depend heavily on reception (which entails everything from location, building interference, range from tower etc.). Sounds like for a average user with non contract options readily available in case this stops being an option could really benefit from the savings.

Yeah when I did this for a couple of years I'd generally get around 50-100mbps down, and maybe 10-20 up, but ping is always 50ms or above. If you live next to a tower with good line of sight and no congestion like in the suburbs you can certainly get into the hundreds. It's really for people without an option for actual home internet (rural areas), or people that like to tinker and "beat the system" woot
