Their customers service is one of two times in the past decade where I lost my temper. They are so incredibly inept it isn't even funny. I had to go through the BBB to get them to do something that simple.

No one bakes bread with a bread machine to save $. Its to make unique-tasting/special ingredient breads that you cannot buy in stores. Same with an ice cream maker.
And $2? I buy bimbo breads (Sara Lee Artesano, specifically), for 80 cents a loaf

But then again, I suppose there are people that do not know that McD chicken nuggets come from living chickens.

You can watch specials for a fair bit less...or...
Bread machines were bought like crazy as gifts. As a result, there's a steady stream of bread machines popping up in thrift stores. Buy yours from a thrift store that allows you to plug it in before buying, and/or has an appliance return policy of at least a day. It should cost you $20 or less."
