Check FB market for used ones. I got a good deal on a couple of PB12-NSDs that way.

This past year i bought a pb12-nsd for $250, pb1000 for $250, and a sb2000 for $300 all on FB. I stayed patient.

I was pining for an hsu but they are just not as popular as svs.

I can probably sell them years later for what i got for them or very close.

Stay patient. Stay respectful. Low ball away

SVS cited increased shipping container costs for their 20% price increases last year. Shipping container costs are now back down to where they were before the pandemic and yet it doesn't appear SVS has bothered to reduce their prices back down by 20% to reflect that fact! Interesting, isn't it? As if this company wasn't already making enough profit margin to begin with.
Considering we've had 16.6% inflation since 2019, it seems about right, unfortunately.

Picked up a pair of PC-2000's a couple years ago and they are amazing. At one point, I knocked a clock off the wall on the main floor from the bass in my basement theater.

If you are considering SVS, don't hesitate. My only recommendation is to go dual (two smaller subs will almost always outperform one larger sub). Dual subs reduces hot / dead spots in your room.

you have to also consider the cost of marriage counseling later and see if its worth buying

These subs are amazing. I wish I still had mine, but alas it went along with the home theater in my last home.

Take that up with his SD filthiness supermanrob. Demand an explanation from those he worships.
That's hilarious coming from the guy that always goes into SVS threads and trolls people for not preferring Monolith, oh the audacity!!!! 🤣
Wait for the "I read about the 20hz filter" !!!! 🤪

Try their link for some good info. I believe ported is prefered as this is what I purchased since music is secondary and the units come with plugs for sealed use.

Profit margin and SVS ????
It's not just shipping it's the cost of labor.

Sure compared to HSU, SVS may have better profit margin but if you want to complain about high margins cite companies like paradigm or JL next time.

Explain to her the benefits of frequency smoothing with dual subs and that even her seating position will now enjoy well balanced bass. I'm sure she will understand And appreciate the lengths you go to make sure her bass experience is optimal.

If that doesn't work tell her that there is a 5% off on dual subs or return customers.

If that doesn't work either tell her a single sub looks asymmetrical and dual subs look far better and proportionate in the room.
