SVS cited increased shipping container costs for their 20% price increases last year. Shipping container costs are now back down to where they were before the pandemic and yet it doesn't appear SVS has bothered to reduce their prices back down by 20% to reflect that fact! Interesting, isn't it? As if this company wasn't already making enough profit margin to begin with.
Hourly wages, all transportation costs due to oil, material costs... This was a joke post, right?

Odds are both were the prices for "blemished" items with cosmetic defects. Those tend to get sold out really, really fast. What's left that you are seeing are the sale prices on speakers without defects.
Just checked again for the fun of it and was able to order an outlet pb 1000 pro for $599.

Can someone recommended a budget sub to go with my computer speakers. Using Kanto U4 as the speakers. This is an overkill for me and don't want to get Polk.

Considering we've had 16.6% inflation since 2019, it seems about right, unfortunately.
Plus, less buying going on luxury items these days

Oh easy, Elac SUB1010, like do not hesitate just buy it, this and the sb1000 are very the best subs IMO
super musical, made with audiophile conscience at a fraction of the cost, a nice extra 20 watts on deck, large port, zero chuffing sounds going on, just wonderful

Wins the shootout for all the realistic choices you got...
recommend you watch this whole thing, this guy is a good dude, knows what's up

with you on the Polk vibe, Erin addresses it in this video, prefers the Elac

No, it's not a joke post. When they sent out their notice about jacking up prices by 20% they made no mention of 'hourly wages.' They mainly talked about the cost of shipping containers having gone through the roof! I'm literally using their own words.

I demand value per dollar and no filters unless I put them on! Keep paying the premium due to those "shipping containers"
Lol so what you "demand" must apply to everyone apparently! 🙄

I paid the "premium" because I auditioned/compared Monolith vs SVS and I preferred the performance sound and feel of SVS in my setup.

Please remind me AGAIN why choosing SVS was so wrong of me?

You obviously have zero real business experience operating or owning one.

Every company maximizes profit. With your mentality, 99.9% of businesses would go bankrupt. You would need a patent or a product so much better than abyone elses or eventually you get squeezed out.

This past year i bought a pb12-nsd for $250, pb1000 for $250, and a sb2000 for $300 all on FB. I stayed patient.

I was pining for an hsu but they are just not as popular as svs.

I can probably sell them years later for what i got for them or very close.

Stay patient. Stay respectful. Low ball away
That's great! I've been trying to do the same. I find most around me in the northeast want as much as a new, updated model. Like 500 for a pb12-nsd. I missed out on a $300 sb12 I was going to add as a 2nd. (and I bought mine new for $340)

And what "mentally" is that, exactly? I'm simply calling them out for jacking up their prices due to factors that are now back to pre-pandemic levels yet those new (even higher) inflated prices of theirs aren't being adjusted back downward to reflect these new cost savings! How are you not comprehending this? Maybe you're the one who needs some business education. Have fun being taken advantage of by corporate greed!

I think that's the case everywhere. Craigslist/FB market sellers are mostly delusional about their pricing laugh out loud. The good deals get snatched quickly, or you can try negotiating a better price. It's a waiting game.
