SVS cited increased shipping container costs for their 20% price increases last year. Shipping container costs are now back down to where they were before the pandemic and yet it doesn't appear SVS has bothered to reduce their prices back down by 20% to reflect that fact! Interesting, isn't it? As if this company wasn't already making enough profit margin to begin with.

Explain to her the benefits of frequency smoothing with dual subs and that even her seating position will now enjoy well balanced bass. I'm sure she will understand And appreciate the lengths you go to make sure her bass experience is optimal.

If that doesn't work tell her that there is a 5% off on dual subs or return customers.

If that doesn't work either tell her a single sub looks asymmetrical and dual subs look far better and proportionate in the room.

SVS does have new products in their outlet from time to time. That unit may be new or a return, in either case it has the same warranty and will be in the same condition (It would be noted if there was damage or a surface blemish). Those are a great way to save money.

I have jamo towers and center(no rears) being driven by Denon AVR S760H, any recommendations between sb-1000 and pb-1000? it's in a large open floor plan living room, the towers give very slight bass but want something better for movie/music mixture, although it's movies/tv 99% of the time

This is happening on a larger scale than most want to acknowledge. It's a swindle going on in real time. It is the main driver of inflation, legitimate cost increases notwithstanding

Many will try out a few different subs and return the ones they don't want and if in excellent condition we benefit off the outlet store pricing.

What makes you think that prices have come back down? Have you checked prices lately?
I'd have to check again but last I knew they were still very high with longer than normal ship times.

Yup. You have to be patient and quick.

I almost never pay anywhere near asking price. Most sellers ask for too much.

They may have their posting up for weeks or months. then they get impatient. That is how i got my pb12 for cheap. Listed for 400, bought for 250 and it is my best sub.

I got my sb2000 because i was the quickest. It was listed for 350 and i asked for 300 as it was already a good price (dont be stupid and lowball an already good asking price). he told me he had several other offers by the time we agreed to meet up. But i was first and i also have great FB reviews (5 stars, 16 reviews) which probably gave him peace of mind.

I got my pb1000 because the listing was listed with many other speakers for a total package. I asked to buy it separately for $250 but the post most likely scared off other buyers.

I almost always "lowball" unless the asking price is already low. Then just ask for a small discount because why not.

And of course, always be respectful/nice. A lot of people message with just "$400" or "400"

I always message with, "Hi, would you consider selling for $400?" My excellent ratings also lets them know i am serious and safe.
