SVS cited increased shipping container costs for their 20% price increases last year. Shipping container costs are now back down to where they were before the pandemic and yet it doesn't appear SVS has bothered to reduce their prices back down by 20% to reflect that fact! Interesting, isn't it? As if this company wasn't already making enough profit margin to begin with.

Explain to her the benefits of frequency smoothing with dual subs and that even her seating position will now enjoy well balanced bass. I'm sure she will understand And appreciate the lengths you go to make sure her bass experience is optimal.

If that doesn't work tell her that there is a 5% off on dual subs or return customers.

If that doesn't work either tell her a single sub looks asymmetrical and dual subs look far better and proportionate in the room.

Received my PB1000 today, it comes only with the power cord.

What cable do it need to connect it to my receiver (Yamaha TSR-7850 7.2-Channel Network AV Receiver)? Should it come with one or not?

Previously I am using a subwoofer JBL Cinema 610.

Seems I need a RCA Audio Interconnect Cable, right?

TIA!
Yes, any coaxial cable will do the job.

PB-1000 Pro is "on sale" at $599. I thought that was the normal price? Odd... I had to set mine -18 dB to make audassy calibration happy.

I used a shielded digital coax cable, but an RCA cable would be fine.

It is normally $599. If you read through the labor day sale thread, everyone says these "sales" are not special anymore. MCACC set my PB-2000s to +0.5dB. It sounds fine to me though.

Every company in America is doing the exact same thing. We the people are getting hosed but SVS is not doing anything unusual here.

I've bought 2 pb1000 pro from their outlet, these things are great. I wish I would have went with higher model since I'm now craving more power

Unbelievably good speakers for the money. A great subwoofer changes your movie watching experience. SVS subs are awesome

I see what you are going for here, but not everything has come down. There are lots of other costs, including labor, that have gone up and aren't coming down. I don't know SVS' situation but I for one can vouch for their absolutely incredible customer service.

I bought an sb12 years ago, and was having an issue with it making a popping noise. Contacted them, out of warranty, and they went through some troubleshooting and then shipped me an entire new board with instructions on how to replace the main board inside. Turns out it was a weird power thing going in with my receiver, not the sub. However, after taking it apart I can say these are so much better built than other subwoofers, and even subs that I have built for myself. For a practically BIFL, customer service backed piece of audio equipment that outperforms it's price range (I got mine for $450), they get the pass from me on raising their prices 20% every 5-10 years. They seem to take much more pride in their product than the average company these days.

Oh, and the sound is awesome.

Looks like people are getting tired of your MO cluttering up these threads but I get it, negative relevance is better than no relevance! 👍🏻😎
You both act like little girls and just can't let the other person have the last word. Makes you both look like fools. Ha ha But hey keep on trashing threads..... That's what you're good at!

I was debating between the $399 PB-1000 outlet sub vs this 12" $249 Klipsch [amazon.com]. I went with the Klipsch and it seems to be pretty good for my use case at least. I upgraded the 8" sub that came with Klipsch 5.1 system. So far the 12" seems to give out good punch. However, I honestly wouldn't know if the PB-1000 would have been a better purchase. Maybe sometime in future when I decide to upgrade I will go with one of these SVS subs.

Yes, I've tried this with my SB12. Not sure if SVS still sells a wireless kit, but the several different (somewhat cheaper) wireless sub kits, and they all had some amount of interference with my WiFi network, regardless of band or channel they were set to. The SVS was sold out at the time, but I think they use the same radio range. In the end, I just bit the bullet and ran a 50 foot aux cable. Works much more consistently with the sub's auto-on/off feature and sounds better to me.

SVS at this price range can't be beat in quality. HSU is another good option. HSU for output but the quality is phenomenal with SVS. I have both.

The pb-1000 can go down to 19hz while that klipsch can only go down to 29hz, big difference when you play a movie. 19hz you can feel it in your chest. I went from a 27hz r-110sw Klipsch to a pb-1000.
