These WIFI extenders are trash. Always dropping connection, and to fix it you have to reboot them. Go for mesh devices such as eero, netgear, Google etc

People hate on these, but they do have a use case. Not great for getting signal in devices that move around, but things that stay in the same location but are out of reach this can be helpful (e.g. smart TVs, smart home devices).

I have an AC1200, but I'd say the best use case for these (like mine) is to use it as a wifi ethernet port for a device that does not have wifi of its own. An older printer or older gaming console etc.

Make sure to read this Q&A about SSID [amazon.com] before you pull the gun on this.

agree with the comments that these have a purpose. these are NOT for using your phone in your backyard, which i purchased for earlier this year... the extender sets up a separate wifi and its a pain to switch back and forth between my home wifi and 'extender' wifi that fills my backyard. poorly, i might add.

I have this exact piece and use it to provide my work computer a hardwired connection as required so I don't have to do any rewiring of the house. It has worked well for years. It hiccups a handful of times per year but is always solved with a reset. Highly recommended if you have a similar purpose.

I'll add this is a great price and it is definitely not "trash".

I had two of these in a house we rented and it barely made a noticeable difference. Ended up returning and running an Ethernet cable with our own router. That's the only way you make a difference.

These extenders are trash. They constantly drop and the orange light is on all the time. If you think it's cheap and nothing to lose, then you'd whatever the amount of money it cost.

If you have recently switched over to 5g home internet from Verizon or T-mobile and your myQ device will no longer connect, this will solve that issue. I recently bought this for that exact purpose and my myQ is now working again.

Just my experience, this will extend your network range but your speed will take a significant hit.

One room I tested went from 60 Mbps without the extender down to 30 Mbps at the extender. It cut the speed in half. And of course it was even slower further away.
