Saw the EX4S+ bike in store for $699. I got the original EX4 several years ago and it is still going strong. When you buy it at Costco you get a whole year of the full membership which is worth $399 itself.

This EX4S+ bike has a much larger screen than the one I got a few years ago at Costco. I haven't dug in to learn of any other differences positive or negative.

Overall I am very satisfied with the amount and quality of their spin classes online. You can do live or they have a huge library of on-demand which I usually do since I may not be coming down right at the start time of a live class.

Expires 12/24 according to the in store tag as shown

Yep, this is a great deal on a great bike and $100 less than what it has been the past couple years. They also, have it online [costco.com] but for a $100 more than in-store. The quality of this bike is much better than the "Sport" versions that were just on BF sale at Walmart (although for $300 those were a great buy). Like you mentioned, you get a free 1 year membership as well, which is awesome if you are going to ride on the Echelon platform.
So, I own(ed) both versions, the EX-4s/Ex-4s+ and you're correct that the new plus version has the bigger screen. In addition, they changed the handlebars to essentially be like the EX-5. The handle bar shape is much more comfortable and they are now adjustable forward and back. Other than that the bikes are mechanically the same and provide the same rider experience. HTH

I read somewhere that the bike heavily relies on the Echelon app via the monitor. And lot of bad reviews with the Bluetooth connection. How's your experience? Also, what if u turn off the monitor and just want to freestyle and watch YouTube on your tv or maybe use other apps from your iPad/phone, is the bike still useable (resistance, etc.)?

I've read he same. To use the full screen the Echelon app / ecosystem is necessary. I have read about people hacking/jail breaking their screen to work with other apps but have not looked into that really.
You can choose Freestyle which will give you all you metrics without doing any classes. It however is shown only on the bottom of the screen while the rest is an advertisement for Echelon.
There is also an app called qdomyos zwift app which allows you to do a bunch of other stuff, again haven't really looked into it.

I'll use the free 1 year membership that comes with it, then figure something else out. Its also Costco so I'm not too concerned about if its breaks with their return polices.

Ok tnx. I can probably do the hack after the 1st yr of free service. Just don't like that they almost cripple the basic stats and put ads instead if u just want basic stuff. But Costco keep dropping the prices on these fast, like they want to get rid of it. And wondering if in a few wks/months it may be 399. I'd rather it be that price with no free subscription coz I know I won't renew anyway. I'm considering the Schwinn IC4 too and prefer the look of that one. But not in a hurry.. Maybe buy now and assemble later. Lol. At least with Costco u got the piece of mind if anything.

Who knows if they will update their firmware on the screen to not allow a hack in a year. Can't guarantee anything. I know Costco does price adjustments for a month, so if someone bought now they could adjust it without taking it back if the price went down. Some people after some back and forth have gotten adjustments a week or two after the month policy. Or you could always buy a new one then turn right around and return it with the old receipt if the price went down in a couple months.

My guess is they are removing their stock for this item and will not be getting new ones in. There is a chance that in a few months these will go on that final Costco sale with the cents ending in .00 / .98 / .88. Then you know they will never be restocked

I bought the bike this past January. I have completed over 350 rides. As far as the Bluetooth connection goes it has disconnected only 3 or 4 times.

The one issue I had was some rust problems, even though I wipe it down after each ride. I reached out to Echelon support. I sent them pictures and a copy of the receipt. I had the replacement parts in a few days.

That's good to know. Not sure where you're from but is the rust just from sweat or humidity? And in what parts? Haven't really read much about rust as an issue of this bike but that's pretty good customer service at least.

I just grabbed the last one at my Costco store. The Costco website shows $599 but I got it for $499 new in the box in store. I going to return the Sport-S I got from Walmart during Black Friday.

You should change the price to $599. That's what is on Costco website.

Sweat. It was the adjustable handlebar that got stuck. Tried every way to loosen but couldn't. The other office issue is if you sweat a lot protect the adjuster knob. I use a small towel around it.
An aside:
I used to ride on the Peloton app. The Echelon app is basically the same with different instructors. I have found several that are great! You get one year included in the price from Costco.
Two: If you really love Peloton, you can buy an app called qzdomos for $6. You need two devices to replicate Peloton. With Echelon utilizing Bluetooth, the resistance changes automatically for pre recorded classes. This feature is only available on the higher end Peloton. But I like the Echelon instructors! Dennis M. Is the Peloton instructor I miss.

I got a warranty replacement on the handlebars. The part sent was the Ex5 handlebar so yes it is the same.

Does your bike have the blue bluetooth light on all the time? Mine is never on. Bluetooth seems to work fine. On power up the screen detects the bike which wouldn't happen if bluetooth wasn't working, I can connect my bluetooth heart rate montitor (although sometime it takes a couple attempts of pushing the heart rate icon), connected my earbuds.
But the light is never really on. Todays ride out of nowhere I see the blue light come on, it altered my resistance, and then 20 seconds later it went out.

It flashes until it connects to bike, and then stays solid when connected.

In a YouTuber mentioning there is about 2 seconds delay from the actuation of the pedals to the readout. Does anyone know if this version 4S+ fixes it with the larger screen?
