Note that Acer' Ebay store is a separate entity, Acer would not recognize them as official.

The ebay store is notorious for selling dented, scratched units with mediocre battery. Do not expect pristine condition refurbished units as you would usually get in from manufacturers.

I bought Acer Nitro 5 from them, and the battery turned out to be faulty. It was a little over the return window, they wouldn't honor it. Not to mention the unit was noticeably used and scratched

Thanks OP - I was kinda peeved about not finding that perfect deal all throughout BF/CM. Then your post alert saved the day! For the solid build quality and specs I'm comfortable with the compromises, especially at under $400. Great find.

It depends on what you want out of the laptop. I have been searching for a new laptop for my mother in law and this one ticket off all the boxes. It has a decent screen. Good battery life. Keyboard/trackpad seem pretty decent also. Ports are plentiful for a laptop in this price range. Here is one review for the laptop: https://www.digitaltrends.com/com...22-review/. They do a good job of highlighting the pros and cons. The cons seem pretty minor for a laptop that my mother in law will use for light productivity work.

Thanks, just decided to get one based on your comment. Was looking for a 14inch and this one does check all the boxes just wasn't so sure about an Acer refurbished. But am gotta take a chance now.

The costco has the U processor instead of P. Looks like single core performance is similar per cpubenchmark. Cpu mark the edge goes to the 1240P
