I bought this last year for about $120. I listen to my music loud while working out. Unfortunately, adding this speaker made my surround sound system sound worse. Within a couple of months, I bought the nicer RP-250C for about $250 and the difference was huge! RP-250C is now well under $200. Don't make the mistake I did in buying the R-25C. Hard to describe the sound, but more of a flat sound, and tinny.

If I would have held out, this would have been a great price.
Alas, I paid $150 but am happy with it.

These are usable as a LCR and would be great for it. The tweeter is a 90°x90° horn and are perfectly capable as a vertically oriented speaker, better than horizontal, actually.

Do you think they'd offer $$ back if we bought at the $129 price?

Would this make an okay standalone speaker for a diy bluetooth setup?

You're much better off getting the IKEA SYMFONISK Bookshelf Speaker for $119, they sound incredible for anything other than heavy bass.

Really? Even with their very small drivers?

I would removing the electronics for my application anyways so I'm just looking at the sound characteristics of the drivers and cabinet

Yes! Avoid the "reference" line. Buy reference premier.
$99 should be this speaker's msrp.

I have an RC-62 II and it sounds great but is about 4 inches too deep for its proper location because of where my ultra short throw projector needs to sit.

Is there a nicer Klipsch center than the R-25C that's 10" deep or less? The 25C would be the perfect size but would be the weak point of my setup (all Klipsch Reference line).

Is there a wider but shallower center speaker they make?

I don't have any receiver or any other home theater setup or equipment, can this alone serve as a primary and standalone speaker? Is this bluetooth enabled? Can I directly connect to an Apple TV or my long throw projector that only has hdmi slots.Appreciate if someone can please advice

No, it's an unpowered speaker.

I said it before and I'll say it again. Do NOT buy this center channel. It's extremely underpowered and will he horrible for your HT, 400 watt is just a marketing gimmick. I returned it after 2 days trying everything to tune it, but it's so damn bad that a tiny 2 Orb speakers produced a much clearer dialogue. I used it with flagship Denon avr-x6700h receiver, so plenty of power to drive it. Spend a bit more and either get an older Klipsch RP-250C (You can find it new online around $180), or a newer
Klipsch RP-500 for about $220... They're virtually indistinguishable. They're much, much better and it will be day and night between r25 and ReferencePremier ones...Think R being a Toyota Corolla while RP is a full decked out Lexus RX truck.

You and me brother are exactly on the same page! Except I gave the center channel two days before I dumped it Smilie
