If there is a power outage, and someone complains about noise, screw them. What is the penalty?
Also, if there is a wide outage, affecting more than you, all of a sudden your neighbors will be knocking on your door to use your generator. Hopefully it doesn't grow legs...
That's about what I paid for a non-inverter 9500w generator a few years back…this looks like a good deal for clean power

I have the WEN version and I love it. It even started a small house AC compressor. I nuked a mini split with a non inverter and will never use them again for electronics. The only thing I'm not seeing included on this one is the high altitude carb kit, which I needed and came with the WEN.
I assume this guy is pretty loud though given the open frame? Asking because we have pretty tight rules around here on noise even when the power is out unfortunately.

I just bought a smaller dual fuel version of this because I have propane and don't want to deal with gas and the effects of leaving gas in it for long periods of time. They make conversion kits to run these on propane. I would definitely investigate. A couple of 20lb propane tanks will run a long time.
Do they make open frame inverters that generate bigger wattages? I'm looking for 12K to 15K.
I haven't seen a portable inverter gen larger than 9500 starting watts. Harbor Freight's got a super nice one but it's over $2300. If you really need more wattage than that, you might have some luck with two parallel-capable inverters, like two 5500 watt generators running in parallel. Unfortunately, the Champion 100520 model is not parallel-capable.
