Sorry for the last minute Black Friday deal, but while browsing Amazon earlier today I saw that they had some great deals on high capacity MicroSD cards. I ended up buying the Samsung 512GB Evo Select for $44.98. Using that Chase $10 promo it came out to just over $37 after tax.
Here are some typical deals: (Note that several deals are now gone, but others remain)
Lots of others but you'll have to rush because I think it ends in a few hours.

Reviews say the 1TB has a 10MB write speed. It will take you a VERY long time to transfer data to this for Switch or Steam Deck. 100,000 seconds or so.

That makes no sense and I'd be leery of any such review. Probably they were using an old and slow card reader. Why would anyone make a 1TB card that slow?
But, 1TB is way more capacity than I need right now. Maybe in a few years, when they're half the price as well. But I've gotten to the point where 256GB isn't enough.

Given it's a V30 card with A2, you should see bar minimum 30mbps write. Probably more like 60mbps with a UHS-1 card reader. Many people run tests on USB 2.0 readers or really old built in readers. Even UHS-1 readers will only do 100/100.
Samsung SD cards are the worst. 100% failure rate within 3 months and Samsung is very unresponsive with warranty claims / expects you to send back defective cards at your expense
