Nope. As long as it was purchased/redeemed in iTunes, Apple gives you the 4k upgrade for free.

Too bad Vudu doesn't do the same thing.

Lots of negative reviews due to people previously purchasing the HD version and not getting a free 4K update. I wonder if the 4K upgrade is noticeable.

Looked at CheapCharts thinking this was just an ok deal, supposedly was never lower then 9.99 on the previous version from what I am seeing. I am getting tired of apple delisting HD versions for a different 4K version.

I have owned this movie in 1080p on iTunes for many years now. I just checked and now it's showing that I own the 4K Ultra Vision version. Did I get lucky or something?

I just purchased this yesterday. One of my all time favorite movies. I own a handful of different versions. The quality is significantly better. Well worth the upgrade.

There's two versions of it, search for it on AppleTV, not on iTunes. You'll see there's the legacy version(upgraded to 4K) and this one

This is the one movie from the franchise that I never bought because it never goes on sale. My collection is now complete. Other than Vegas vacation, though we don't really count that one. But I would probably pick it up once it hits $5. Now we just need the other movies in the franchise to get the Dolby Vision 4K treatment.
