Timeless toy, hold their value, consistent system, high quality, collectible, nostalgia, good for any age, educational/STEM qualities… a lot going for it.

I've recently gotten back into Legos as an adult now that we have 6 and 9 year old kids—everyone can do them together, whether it's bulk creative builds or something like this set.

Started this one over the weekend. Probably about 8 hours in and only about 1/3 of the way done. That said… the 8 hours also includes movie and football games on at the same time. Nice value for time required to complete, and the finished size is huuuge (I think like 25 x 41 inches if I recall).

Why are legos so expensive? Are they really that much to make?

And now I'm going to scrap my traditional map and pins system for this. This is epic.

Where was this sold at? Wanted to keep an eye on it for that price.

They are iconic and reusable. However, they are a petroleum based product, expect prices to increase as their ESG scores go down.

Kohl's had a massive deal on this that included Kohl's Cash on top of the $175. They ended up losing my package but let me keep the KC, waited for it to come back in stock and grabbed it with the extra discounts

These are just under 2 cents a piece (at the sale price), that seems pretty cheap to me.

people will overpay for the dumbest stuff and try to convince you they are worth more than a piece of molded plastic that came out of a Chinese factory.
The value of an item isn't always in the costs of its components. That said, to each their own but this does look like a great way to teach my kids about the globe.

Hard to say where their biggest factory is. But I know it is only "relatively" recently they've been making any in China.
Another big cost factor is the precision with which they are made. Legos you buy today work seamlessly with ones from the 80's. Also, they are extremely durable.

If that is your intent, then an actual globe with topographic feature sets would be a better, more effective and more cost effective educational session. Just my $9.78.

Is this map for the apocalypse? Barren land and oceans full of trash?
