I've recently gotten back into Legos as an adult now that we have 6 and 9 year old kids—everyone can do them together, whether it's bulk creative builds or something like this set.

Timeless toy, hold their value, consistent system, high quality, collectible, nostalgia, good for any age, educational/STEM qualities… a lot going for it.

They are iconic and reusable. However, they are a petroleum based product, expect prices to increase as their ESG scores go down.
These are just under 2 cents a piece (at the sale price), that seems pretty cheap to me.

Another big cost factor is the precision with which they are made. Legos you buy today work seamlessly with ones from the 80's. Also, they are extremely durable.
