If you want to avoid the return shipping charges, chat with Samsonite customer service after you place the order and tell that you want to cancel the order, they cannot cancel the order, but they will initiate a free return label. After receiving the back pack you can decide to return it or not.

I'm surprised to read this, I bought the black from last deal and was a bit disappointed, feels a bit cheaper compared to other Samsonite products I had before, I couldn't return either as they were charging for return shipping so I just kept it

While it holds a lot of things, zippers are flimsy and I would say it lacks internal padding. Some pockets are paper-thin, it mostly will depend what you carry. Don't get me wrong it's a good backpack and I do think it's worth the 35 but I would never spend more then 40 on it much less that regular msrp price

My questions: Is this backpack good enough to travel through airports with 2 laptops (16" + 14"), 2 iPads and a few other misc items without putting a dent on any of them? If yes, for $40 I will take it. I don't care about the quality of fabric used or how it looks from outside. Is there enough cushion in there to protect my stuff?

My 11 year old loves this backpack. Literally transfered over all her stuff from her old backpack and still has room and keeps telling me how much lighter it is

I ordered the red. The zippers work like a charm. Then, all pockets and compartments are great. The padding for the laptop is great on both front and back, not so much on the bottom. I had other Samsonite backpacks and didn't like them as much as this one.
The laptop compartment fits my 15' Macbook Pro. There is still room for maybe an ipad but I wouldn't recommend more than 1 laptop (not much padding on the bottom of the laptop compartment).

I measured the laptop compartment interior: from side to side when opened is 12 inches.
