There are so many other places that make backpacks and other gear and warranty it "forever." If I'm buying a tool to protect me and my trip then it damn well have an ample warranty which tells me the manufacturer built it to last a long time.

Sucks for the rest of us when that happens but people are shitty so here we are.
I prefer this over my Osprey Daylite for these reasons:
* The water bottle holders don't drop my bottles, and actually expand outward, rather than eat into the interior space.
* Is a little larger
* Packs a little better in my Farpoint 40L when traveling. On the other hand, it's less rigid than the Daylite.
* The lidded design lets me drape a jacket underneath the lid if I need to.
Some downsides are:
* The two clips for holding the lid down fall to the floor when they're undone. It can be annoying to have to always have to reach for them to clip them back in. I ended up putting them through the gear tie out loops so that it doesn't flop down as far.
* Waist belt isn't removable, though there is a little "pocket" of space you can tuck them in so they're out of the way.
I still see a lot of used/returned gear at my local REI store.

Edit: Interesting, looks like they now went to a dual-clip closure on the lid. Mine has a single. They've redesigned this pack at least once previously too, as my current one is a little different than the one I originally got back in 2017. Still love it.
