This laptop is tailored for people that must have the lightest possible laptop while they are on the go. 2.14lbs.

I don't understand the nitpicking … soldered ram… and lack of gpu? What? Is this some kind of trolling.

For 90% of people, cracking open a laptop, buying the exact RAM needed (after doing research to make sure there's no quiet incompatibilities), and installing said RAM is absolutely not in their gameplan. Ever.

RAM slots are thicker and add to the cost -- a cost that most people will never take advantage of. And 16gb is absolutely fine for most users (heck, you have people screaming that 8gb is fine for most users. as much as I disagree with that, there's a certain amount of truth to it for lighter workloads).

Listen, this is a laptop for work on the go. Not a gaming laptop, ok. Why complain?

Good price given that it's the current gen X1 nano with 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD.

Great deal, but the solderied RAM kills it for me at least.

And if it's ULV RAM, DIMMS don't exist for it. It's all soldered.

I hear ya. This is a totally different class of machine, meant for a use-case where they don't want nor need to tinker with RAM or play video games. But some people aren't ever satisfied.

I look at the size of this machine -- it's a very light 13" machine with a 2K display that's 450nits. That's impressive. 16gb/512gb is perfectly fine for most business users. And a 1080p camera in an era where most are still 720p. This is a working person's laptop.

Some complaints about overheating, but you could say that about any intel box.

You'd think these overgrown children would have a tantrum if they don't get a chance to play their videya-gahmes all the time.

I have X1 carbon and X1 nano and they are both fantastic machines. Don't want to find a reason to get the newer nano but if someone happens to mention some valid reason lol save me

If this machine was 32gb/1tb w/ touch -- I'd be upgrading in a heartbeat. I'm happy with my Lenovo Thinkpad X12 (MS Surface clone) that I got on a decent sale in early summer....but like you, if it had better specs, save me.
