5600 has more cache but most of all supports PCI express 4.0 whereas the G supports only 3.0.
Better get a 5600 for $118 instead if you want to pair it with a GPU.
The 5600 has 2x the cache (16MB vs 32MB) and has much faster data transfer rates (PCI 4) for storage and GPUs.

Shows 3 weeks for me. But usually amazon will beat the estimated delivery date if they are the seller. They are just waiting for more stock to arrive.

Lowest price I've seen for this one. I want to say performance is very similar to the 5600X. I could be wrong

5600 seems to perform almost the same. What would be the benefit of going with 5600?

The difference is extremely marginal. I'd go with the G for resale or reuse value alone even if I was adding a discrete GPU

I got the 5600G a month ago because I figured I'd run it without a GPU at first and see if it is sufficient for light gaming. It's been solid.

But with decent $100 GPUs floating around that are 3x the tflops of the 5600G iGPU, it might be the better path.

The PCIe 4.0 might allow you to get away with using something like that $100 RX 6500 XT with a PCIe 4.0 x4 connection.

Whereas the same GPU used with the 5600G would be limited to PCIe 3.0 x4, half the bandwidth.

Yeah, exactly.

Doesn't matter as much for higher end GPUs from what I'm reading. I expect I'll pick up a 3060 or 3060 Ti at some point in the future, maybe if they hit ~$200 in a year or two when the low end 4000s arrive.
