Just as a heads up, I traded in some stuff yesterday and they have a promo where the cash amount is the same as GS credit. Also found out that they accept 2DS and 3DS units still. Got $77 for my 2DS yesterday and close to $100 for my 3DS.

Nice deal. Tip: Go asap, the last time they did this deal GameStop started lowering trade in values towards the end of the week

Gamestop must have more used games they're selling as new.
This seems more like a self promoting effort from the business itself.

Not even a real reference to the promos or anything.

GS barely advertises their normal promos so that's nothing new. IE right now there is a 30%/40% PUR bonus for tradeins towards specific games like Pokemon Scarlet.

And print out the offer before it is lowered. I learned that the hard way when they dropped the price on trade ins hours after I looked.

Issue from back in the day they would tank trade in values during the promo week. Sometimes they'd bring down the value by the amount they said they would give you extra. Giving the the illusion of savings.

This doesn't only happen at GameStop. Happens at many other retailers lol. People see the "Sale" sign and think they are getting a deal. In fact they could be paying more or the same. Keep track of some values now for trade in and see what they are next week.
