How much of an upgrade is a 40w 3050ti over an integrated gpu? I can't think it can be too much.

It would smoke any igpu.

680m is good, but against a dedicated gpu… No.

Igpu would be better for battery life and light gaming, but it shares system ram. Dedicated has its own way faster ram.

OK. So this is the real deal here. What you have is an absolute casual gaming machine. I got it two years ago. Still use it everyday. Play RDR2 with no issues on medium settings.

Curious about the USB C charging... does it provide enough power to charge the laptop while performing strenuous activities? I don't game, but I am looking to do video editing. I remember seeing many of these USB C non-dedicated charging ports only charge at like 15 watts. Would that be enough to keep up?

Just bought a nicely specd Victus for $800 but it turns out it doesn't charge from the USB C, which was frustrating, but now I'm wondering if it would even be worth while?

It supports up to 90W. More than enough for continuous gaming.
I tried using 65W for gaming, it works OK but it does drain slowly
I have been using strictly USB C for charging.
Original power adapter is not great.

Something like this should be more than plenty for continuous gaming.
One caveat is that it has aluminum body(magnesium?) so it conducts heat a lot. It gets pretty hot with gaming.

Love this laptop. It will actually pull 100w over USBC which will power the whole thing. Only problem is a single fan for CPU and GPU. Some guy on notebook review forums figured out how to set the fan to 100% but it's gone now.

Great sleeper gamer.

forgot the best part: 3.0lbs

I've seriously been considering the Swift X since I would use it mostly for easy tasks and some light video editing. I did see they also have this Predator Triton SE 300 SE (i7-11375H + 3050 ti) for a little bit more, $705. Thoughts?

The only real reason to go with the other one is if you want the faster refresh rate display. The SE isn't well regarded and many people say the CPU is the most disappointing part. The Swift X is a bit of a sleeper and is extremely well rounded.

It makes me feel like S.T. that I paid 1449.99 for this machine 1.5 years ago ... something is learning with Age is (I don't get top of the line or stuff on a barely any discount) the funny part is that I don't even use the laptop.
