I thought of the same thing but it's not available in stores at HD and they have about 300 or so for delivery which made me think they made a smaller quantity of this blower overall. So I just went for it.

What's funny is how people complain about the cost of Ego batteries, but their tools are superior, and their best blower with a 5 ah 56 volt battery, that is considerably bigger than even Milwaukee's 12 Ah 18 volt battery, isn't a lot more expensive than this bare tool is. Not to mention, it blows almost 50 percent faster. The carpentry brands are a joke for outdoors, compared to Ego.

I'm content with my m18 single batt blower. It works well for what it is. I've read the dual batt blower isn't that much better than the single battery blower so I'll pass. I'm already invested in Milwaukee so the single batt blower only cost $99. I agree the ego is more powerful and a great by if you aren't invested in another tool ecosystem

Why are you comparing the tiny ecosystem of EGO tools to Milwaukee's vastly larger ecosystem?
People that already have Milwaukee are not necessarily going to buy EGO just for the battery size.

It looks like you might be able to get another $50 back using Honey, but it might not qualify I have been burned by Honey before trying to double dip.

For all those out there talking about how much Ego batteries are. All you have to do is wait for a good sale on a tool and battery combo, and sell the tool. You will come out with a great deal on a battery that is much bigger and better than Milwaukees.

Milwaukee is pushing it on 18 volt, as you can see with their trimmer overheating, that is, unless it is from some other issue. Ego has a stellar trimmer. They have been able to sell the same model for 6 or 7 years because of that.

Personally, I want the best, and something that is gas comparable, too.

Great blower if you already have several M18 batteries. It's a major improvement over the single battery fuel blower.

Ego's batteries aren't more expensive. They are cheaper for tools which are anywhere near comparable (performance.) For an example of costs: the m18 mower is currently $1200 and the a spare set of batteries (requires 2) will run you $570. You can get an ego mower with the same features for $750 and a spare battery will run you $399.

As far as power, ego has a higher voltage but that doesn't mean a whole lot.

As far as performance, EGO regularly blows milwaukee out of the water. I'm a huge milwaukee person and own a LOT of their power tool. A big enough fan that get rid of my ego and have milwaukee just because it's a milwaukee. But milwaukee's OPE is way more expensive and the performance is pitiful. So it's really hard to convince myself to make the switch. It should be that hard. But the truth of the matter is that their OPE really sucks. For example: it's bad enough that they threw the fuel branding on the side of the single battery blower. It's damn near shameful that is got a milwaukee badge on it at all. The dual battery version finally became somewhat comparable to other manufacturers, but it's still not a the top of the list. And hell, forget ego, Ryobi has a better blower. WTF, Milwaukee?

I have EGO 56v blower
I have a worx 20v grass trimmer
I have Ridgid 18v tools
I have Milwaukee 12v tools
I have Makita 9.6 tools
I have one Dewalt 8v screwdriver

They are all good. Some better than others. If you want the best for a given tool, switch teams as often as possible.
When it comes to yard tools, I think EGO is the winner here. Especially when the EGO 615 CFM blower kit with 4ah battery is on sale for $149. (Sorry I think that deal expired)
