Just keep in mind Gen 2 has Atmos support and LPCM support (game consoles/apple tv) and Gen 1 does not. It may or may not matter to you but something to be aware of.

They sometimes go lower than this price, but you have to set a deal alert. I got a refurbished Beam (Gen 1) for $191.40 before tax not too long ago directly from Sonos.

I have the Beam gen 1 outside in a Pergola and it's perfect fine. I also have the Arc in a theater type room (man cave) and it totally needed the sub. I would say it's dependent on need. If you're looking for tv shows, occasional movie, the Beam alone is fine. If you're wanting the real theater type sound, you'll want a sub.

I know the warrantee is the same, but I was hoping for some input and feedback from those who had purchased refurbished Sonos speakers before. I did a Google search, but didn't see anyone talking about how reliable refurbished speakers and subwoofers are.

Sonos usually seems to have high-quality refurbished items, not to mention reliable products in general. I got a refurb Move from them about a year ago which has been heavily used since, and it's been rock solid and essentially appeared brand new when I took it out of the box. Given the generous return policy and warranty, I'd feel pretty comfortable giving more of their refurbs a try. I might grab a couple of the One SLs as gifts, as that is a fabulous price.

I bought the refurb Beam Gen 1 last year and have been using it pretty consistently with my TV since then. Came without a scratch and all the parts included (of course). I ended up getting 2 One SL's from this deal just now as well

Bought it for my old bedroom tv but ended up getting a G1 and that sounds good enough for tv speakers so I transfered it to my living room tv. Just the right amount of bass, so no sub taking up space needed. Plus it sounds pretty good playing music.

Thanks for that.

A general question for all: Are there any worries about buying these "Refurbished" Sonos Arc, sub and Ones?
I have my entire house and vacation house set up with Ones and Fives. All have been purchased as refurbs or open box units except for one of my Ones that I bought brand new. I have two refurb Ones and two refurb SL Ones from Sonos, Three open-box Ones from Crutchfield, and two refurb Ones and a Five from Best Buy. I would not recommend Best Buy Refurbs unless you can get a fantastic deal on them. Not packed well, most needed factory re-sets. The Ones that I purchased from Sonos and Crutchfield looked brand new. No issues at all.

Not at all, they come in original boxes and look brand new.

Do the SL speakers pair well with beam as back speakers.

yep, they work great together. I have a beam up front, two SL's as rear channels and a sub. Sounds amazing.

Can you get away with just the Beam and no subwoofer if you don't need anything spectacular other than solid tv/movie sound?

I have just the beam gen 1 in a small room and it's surprisingly good.
