Kind of a goofy outdated toy. Throttle is on/off only, chain drive with freewheel so motor has to spin up when you get back on throttle. no suspension. Single brake is not very good. 5'10" 190 it gets me up and down the street fine. Not sure I'd attempt a hill.
We have a couple of these for several years now. Frame is strong, motor is adequate for <150 lbs, above that you might want to upgrade the motor/controller/ and/or increase the voltage. Stripped down they look very cool. Free wheeling hub is a plus and increases ride time between required charging. For the price they are not bad.
How much does it struggle for you at the start? I'm 210 and I want a little toy to drive around the neighborhood.
I wouldn't call it peppy from a standing start but it will get around fine carrying 210 lbs on flat. It struggles going up my medium pitch driveway.
I would guess it's rated for 13+ yrs old because it goes fairly fast. It does 13mph with me riding so probably 15+ with a child. My 8yo can ride it easily size-wise.
Definitely helmet for a kid. I don't bother with a helmet for me.
Didn't mean to sound too negative on it before- it's a fun little thing to scoot around the neighborhood on. Just don't expect it to be transportation or have a lot of power or range.

Purchased for my 8-year-old. Seen these driving around our neighborhood over the summer by some older girls, and she has been asking for one ever since. I've been looking for a used one, but I rarely see them go for under $100 and if they do, they need a new battery. So $150 seemed like a good deal. I just picked it up from Walmart and the box states "for riders 170lbs or less)" I am looking forward to seeing her face on Christmas, as well as giving this thing a whirl (I weigh 165lbs)! Thanks OP

Sorry but how does a three year old ride this scooter? It's rated for 13+
I was jumping ramps on a 50cc Honda minibike in a field near our house when I was six, so a three-year-old riding a battery powered toy scooter does not seem exactly far-fetched
EDIT: Tiny dirt ramps maybe a foot or two high, not Evel Knievel-style ramps
