I also used it to shave my head bald a few times and I liked the results since unlike the razor, it doesn't slice my head to bleed but it takes much more time to finish the job.
Overall, I really like the trimmer, though.

It should be fine. I hate having a beard but hate shaving. I use it when I don't have anything important to look good at or when I have not shaved for several days. With an almost a beard it is MUCH less painful than ripping through it with a razor. I'll either use it and call it "good enough for government work" or I use it to knock down my beard so shaving with a razor does not hurt too much.
TLDR: It's no where near as close as a razor blade but it's pretty close and hurts way less than a blade if you like to go for a while between shaves.
