Yeah the company that paid out their CEO more money than all its other employees combined to sell luxury cars is definitely a selfless environmental charity lmao.
What's the cost-basis on your shares?

Demand definitely cooling. Good discount for people making over $150k / $300k though.

Shitty car made by a shitty company run by a shitty person. There are better ways to get a car by spending 60-70K.

Let's not forget with dealer markups and availability especially from Honda dealerships the top trim accord could get up to 40-45 k which has lower levels of performance and features than a base model 3.I'm saying this from experience as I went car shopping last month .Let's not forget gas prices and the Benefits in your state when you own a EV. Not saying this is the best financial option if you can't afford it and don't drive much but if you can afford it it's definitely worth it.
Those markup days are evaporating.

Agree with shitty CEO but their cars are definitely not shitty. I own one and can say it's pretty good car but not perfect.

I still hate their navigation system but it is still way better than most built in navigation I have used.

I'm pretty sure the 150/300K thresholds are based on adjusted taxable income. Very different. 150K gross income is equivalent to 100K adjusted income in many cases (if you contribute to 401K, etc). So you can still make 150K and get the higher tax credit.

Tesla cars have nice bells and whistles, but the actual build quality in my experience is lacking, especially for the price you're paying.

Nowadays a lot of car makers are releasing pretty nice EVs, curious to see if Tesla can do anything to maintain their position at the top of the market. Company's reputation has certainly taken a hit lately thanks to leadership missteps, but if they release something impressive that'll all be forgotten. Feels like they haven't released anything new for a long time, but I don't have my finger on the pulse these days.

Tested drove tesla model Y, and S. Honestly, if you wanted a tesla, you must go with S. maybe used for$50k -60k.

Y is not worth over $70k price tag, just overall quality is just feels so cheap, the plastic the ride wouldn't justify a $70k plus tag.

Couldn't get a 2023 sienna without dealerships markup (3-5k and a bunch of useless addon such as $100 phone cables )

Tbf. It is the only hybrid mini van in the market. Wait a bit longer. 2023 is not better than 2022.

Would would anyone pick $3500 over $7500 ?
Starting in 2023, the tax credit will consist of two parts: $3,750 if it meets "critical minerals" requirements, $3,750 if it meets "battery component" requirements, or $7,500 if it meets both. There's not yet an official announcement whether Tesla vehicles will meet both parts.

Also, for people who are above the income limits to qualify for the tax credit, this is an amazing deal because it's simply $3,750 less than they expected. In regards to the income limits (source [kiplinger.com]):

If you're single, and your modified adjusted gross income is over $150,000, you won't qualify for the EV tax credit. The EV tax credit income limit for married couples who are filing jointly is $300,000. And if you file as head of household and make $225,000 or more, you also won't be able to claim the credit.
I hope this helps,
Tofu Vic

You mean fossil fuels that produce vast majority of electricity?
