that's because you clicked the 2nd listing, there are 2 different models listed.
1 for $599 with the 6600H (the one in the title) and then there's the 12500H for $649 in the other link

This is a great laptop, but be warned, the video card isn't connected to either the HDMI or USB-C external connections. I really need that functionality so I'm a bit bummed with this purchase. If you don't care about that though, it's amazing value choice.

I have this laptop. The 120hz screen has extremely bad ghosting. So if you're gaming, please take this into consideration. The 144hz panel does not have this issue.

I wonder if it's worth it to get a better unit for an extra $125?.

Lenovo Ideapad 5 Pro Laptop, 16" IPS 350 nits 120Hz, Ryzen 5 6600HS, RTX 3050

That's on eBay for $785. Lenovo store.

Difference between 3050 and 3050ti is probably negligible?

So does this mean that you can't extend or mirror the display to a TV or monitor?

I would also like to understand this? For example if I were editing video in Adobe Premier and purchased this laptop specifically because it has the NVIDIA 3050 GPU. Does this mean that the GPU only works with the laptop screen, and extending to any external monitor would bypass the GPU?

If this is the case, how do you learn about this for other laptops as well? This is my exact use case and I plan to exclusively use external monitors. This would make buying a laptop with a dedicated GPU useless for me. I want to make sure I'm not buying a laptop that is lacking this capability.

I'm apparently so far out of the loop I have the same question as you.

How does the 650$ model compare to this very similar 550$ model [ebay.com]? (slickdeals post)

Lenovo - Ideapad Gaming 3 15.6" FHD Laptop
- Ryzen 5 5600H
- 8GB Memory
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti
- 256GB SSD
- Shadow Black

I think it is worth the difference, no?

Think I fat fingered a reply earlier. The CPU has integrated graphics. Which would send your signal to an external display. Just about every laptop can do this in some fashion. The issue is that for graphic intense work like you describe (I'm also a designer), the CPU will do double duty, and you'll be dipping into system ram to handle heavy graphic requests. Overall, the performance will take a hit.

You also likely won't get the kinds of quality images on the external display like you would if it was coming from the dedicated chip.

Honestly not sure why they'd cut corners like this. Maybe to save cost or improve battery life. Either way, it sucks.
