$400 from Amazon. Cheapest I've seen in the last 3 months. Firmware update on this basically brings it up to par with the newer Uniden R8.

Pretty solid deal I think. Lowest I've seen is $350? Not bad if In the market for one.

Have had this for a year. Very good unit. Not the best false filtering, but good bang for the buck.

I love the r7 but the r8 has approximately a 50 percent increase in range

I was able to order as soon as I got an alert. funny thing is, I was telling my wife I canceled my order from when I ordered it for $450 a couple days ago and the alert popped up!

Was $400 when I looked, but agree back up now. Perhaps Amazon is doing interest/demand based pricing like the airlines?

I have one of these and it's fantastic. Worth it after the first ticket avoided....

I've had Escorts for years and then got a Uniden R3 a few years ago. They were all good for their time, but the arrows were always elusive. When Valentine lost their hold on the arrows I felt I didn't really need them since I had figured out how to "read" the beeps and meter well enough to figure out where the radar gun was sitting. But my R3 was getting old and I was able to get the R7 for a great deal (price error?), I jumped.
Arrows are the cat's meow. They provide very useful information that helps with situational awareness that used to take thought and effort. Now the information is just there. Fantastic radar detector. These are worth full price, but on a deal, all the better!

I don't know how the hell the range could get any better. R7 is like a fortune teller, range is crazy good in DFW.

Came here just to say that this thing is awesome. Super long range (you "see" them long before they see you), have saved me from a ticket on probably weekly basis. Shows what band it's detecting, which is a must. I have come to learn that almost all detectors are KA band. Peace of mind to drive however fast you feel like it. Paid $500 something and don't regret it at all.

Yeah. Feel like any more range is probably detrimental (constant paranoia).

That's crazy!!! The range is great on this one the R8 must be going through objects and interferences….
