I have called the CSR costumer care to explore about the retention offer. The representative gave me $150 statement credit. It may be worth to give a call if you have your annual fee ($550) due now!

I said something like "My fee just posted and like every year I consider whether it's worth staying or downgrading. Is there a retention credit you can offer to convince me to keep it". They offered $250 and I kept the card.

Are you all calling after your fees post or before? My AF posts sometimes in Feb and I was denied earlier this year as well.

I do have CSR for last 5 years. main attraction is priority pass & $300 cashback for travel which works for GAS & ezpass. recently i opened venture X from capital one and it has $300 travels credit(you need to book from capitalone travel website) 100000 miles($100) as renewal credit & priority pass for member & Authorized user , cell phone protection plan , $100 credit for TSA or global entry + many other benefits. For sure on my prospect Venture X giving more value. On renewal i might cancel my CSR unless i get retention offer

What's GAS? Travel credit doesn't work for gas.

This is news to me. I just ordered an airline gift card this year to get the $300 credit. I've been unable to travel due to personal reasons in the last 2 years.
Last years relaxation on non travel applying to the $300 credit was nice.
Thanks for letting me know about this.
I will lose my 4% CB on gas on my citi Costco credit card

too late chase. looks like they are finally feeling the heat from the venture x. i personally know two other people that have also switched. closed my csr and switched over. never had any issues and it was a great card…but the the venture x is proving to be the same at a cheaper price point.

I totally agree- Same benefit with way less fee & with all perks & credits you are paying zero fees with Venture X from capitalone. Only benefit compared to venture X with CSR you have 1.5 time value for travel booking while paying with points on ultimatereward website

In between if anyone is looking for refferlink for venture X PM meSmilie

I called and they said its peak season (whatever that means) and they won't have any retention offers. Closed my CSR of 5 years, plan to re-apply again in the future.
