That is unfortunate, I would edit the title if I knew how to... this literally is my first post ever...
EDIT: Just figured it out... silly me..

I am curious why downvote? Is this not a good deal? I had 7950x from Amazon for $549, B560E for $350 and G.Skill 6000 32 (16x2) RAM for $189 which adds upto $1088 -- this deal is for 10 bucks less and yet you're getting a better mobo -- I think its pretty good. Let me know what you guys think

Not that I did, but I can see people downvoting it out of frustration cos it is a micro center deal that is not mentioned so in the title.

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank bertythebean

Keep in mind that the 7950X with the RAM is $600 and the motherboard is $500. This combo is essentially the same as buying them separately plus the $20 motherboard combo discount. It's still a good deal for the right person, but the total combo isn't better than any other combo from Microcenter.

I bought similar parts last week, netted out slightly more expensive but had the benefit of ordering online and not going into a store Smilie

Motherboard $405
7950X $554
32GB DD5 $160
Total: $1119

Decent deal overall if you're near a micro center and want the 7950x.

Link? All I'm saying is that this combo costs the same as the sum of its parts. Whether the 7900X is a better deal than the 7950X is subjective and different for everyone.

Thanks OP. Ordered them at a store a little farther away (Fairfax VA). They still have quite a few left (also combo with x7700 at 828.98). There are also combos with different motherboards.

I actually will use integrated graphics for now (not a gamer). May get one for video editing later.

I have not built a PC since about 2005. Grabbed this on impulse. Any recommendation for cooling, case, Power Supply will be most welcomed.

Where do I get a copy Windows for a reasonable price nowadays?

I'd go for that but all combos with x7900 are sold out here. I really should settle for x7700, but with such an expensive motherboard, I figure I'd go all out.

But it is expected that the AM5 platform will be around for a while so likely you would upgrade later just the cpu

Hey, you contributed, thank you. I'm still not there on 7000 series. With the total price of going to am5, I'm holding out. Maybe the price drops a lot when the 3d versions come out.

Jeez, building my next rig is going to be expensive. I got my current CPU (i7-5820K - $300), mobo (Gigabyte X99-UD5 WiFi - $200), and 32GB of DDR4-3200 for less than $700. Complete rigs INCLUDING GPU would run $1500-$1700, now it looks like it's gonna cost that much MINUS a GPU. Sure, it's gonna be fast af, but ouch.

Same, my first build ever, and I also don't plan on buying the graphics card just yet, gonna wait for some better deals -- I snagged a Corsair iCUE Capellix AIO for $75 refurbished, and Thermaltake Gold+ 850 PSU (for $80), Samsung 980 Pro for $180 --- so overall should be set for now.

You are right, but I can't change mind now since everything other than the most expensive combo is gone.

I havent built a pc since 2001. I just finished, with the exception of a 6800xt video card that should be here in a couple days.

I held out for am5, thinking it would last longer, but after spending way more than I wanted, I wish I had just gone with a 5800xt. Would have saved roughly $4-500 on chipset, mobo, and ram.
