Code works for me. I bought the $19.99 fire stick set up to return. I also wanted to do a trade in, is there a time limit on this deal?

Doesn't it upscale the content from the firestick as well?

I don't know what you mean Sony, I replied to your comment because you said you have LG OLED and that is what I have, I'm not referring to the fire stick either I'm talking about the LG OLED built in WebOS apps
I was keeping it short, basically I like whatever works best at the time and sometimes the OS may not update the apps as well so I bounce around. yes the Sony upscales everything, Bravia chip is special and the apps surprised me how sharp they are.

Usually I suggest external boxes but I've been testing the native apps on the Sony OLED and the 2nd gen Apple TV I just got. Side by side with Directv Stream app it's noticeably faster changing channels on my Apple TV.

I'm only missing the new Fire Cube now, but the Firestick Max has been good enough. I was just watching a comparison on Digital trends and I'm like that guy, spend as much as you can afford since you are watching it a lot like me. For now I'm keeping the new ATV on my OLED and running regular media over my ROKU Ultra on other TV. I put this MAX and The Chromecast Ultra on an HDMI splitter for the TCL 6 series. The Roku Ultra has 4K HDR football right now on FoxSports app.

So yes, this Max is worth $30 but a wired box like the Apple TV is better and costs a lot more. I'm a reluctant Sony and Apple fan but that's starting to change. Smilie Happy Streaming!

Man they can have these. I tried the fire stick and you really get what you pay for, I'll stick to Apple TV from now on
I was initially thinking the Fire TV Stick 4K Max specs would be best for main room/living area TV since it has the most ram and highest spec cpu/gpu of the lineup offered. But then you have to consider Apple TV has 3GB of ram, and the new XiOne streaming box has 4GB ram (xfinity's new 4k flex box).

Unless there was a convincing comparison video I wouldn't think Fire OS 7 helps keep the Fire TV Stick ahead of the pack in performance. If the apps for cache clearing really do help speed it up then it's a nice deal for $29.99 especially for an older smart TV.

You want these to work optimally? Add a cache, app, with memory clearing app to your list and use it at least daily. For reasons that God and Bezos only knows, none of the sticks or cubes let you manually close apps out of being loaded into memory, along with cache, etc. A clearing app is a MUST if you want top performance, especially with high resource apps like Kodi. IT REALLY MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE!

ITT: People who used to scream at their Direct TV receiver every time the guide lags at all. It's the same people who are willing to spend hundreds on a device and hundreds more every month on streaming services just to be 10000% sure it's seamless and with zero lag ever.

If you're the part of the "I WILL PAY TOP DOLLAR FOR CONVENIENCE" crowd, why are you even here? Why are you bothering complaining about these Firesticks that literally cost 1/4 the price of the Apple TVs you prefer? Are you really naive enough to think that the two pieces are hardware would perform the same way? Get a grip. Better yet, get off Slickdeals because you should be browsing Apple's or Best Buy's website instead.

What can I say? Sometimes the nonsense that people unload into these threads gets a bit tedious. Users actually thinking before commenting would revolutionize this place.

That's a weird generalization. Bashing this device isn't fully warranted unless it's personally hurt your pockets or robbed your time. It's specced well and for $30 (retail $54.99) it probably offers more value compared to the 50% off 3rd gen Fire TV Stick.

I would agree that bashing the device isn't warranted, and also agree that they do well. What's weird is wandering it here behaving as if one should expect similar performance from a device that retails at $130 and very rarely goes on sale and a device that almost perpetually can be found at $30 to $35. That isn't me criticizing the Firestick, but rather those who have trouble setting reasonable expectations.

20% off via trade in works but Amazon wont apply it until they receive and inspect the device that you trade in. I'm not sure if this deal would still be available by the time they receive and inspect
I'm pretty sure the trade-in won't stack with this deal because you can only enter a single promo code on Amazon. I've done many trade-in before and you're essentially given a code that applies to the item once you add a Fire TV device in your cart. .
