Philips Sonicare 9900 Prestige currently on sale directly through Philips for $248.96, combine with the 15% email welcome offer and it'll take another $37.34 off for a final price of $211.62 before taxes.
Their coupon codes say they do not combine with other offers but it still will apply. I also assume this will work with their other products but I was looking at the 9900 specifically.

Wow electric toothbrushes have truly developed no new features in the last five years that are of any practical use. The oral b 6000 that I bought 5 years ago for 50 bucks is still sold today, and has almost all the features that this brush has. Not to mention it's being sold for 5 times the price 🤦🏽 ♂️
TLDR the only thing that matters is a good quality battery

Forget the battery. In the 15 years we've owned these as a family of four we have bought at least 15 of them. All have the same issue from the basic flexcare to diamond clean. I've tried every model. With pressure and switching the brush heads on and off the metal tip would eventually loosen inside and the vibration would get very dull. The only reason we purchase them is because they are amazing when they worked. Keep our teeth clean. I will say the features on these are subjective for people whether they are justified BUT the vibration strength is more or less the same on every model.
The oral B is much better in terms of longevity but I stopped using it since the brush head would accumulate black mold and gunk since there are holes/openings in the head. I had a cough for a few months that eventually went away once I switched back. Not entirely sure if it was the cause but the only reason I could pinpoint. The sonicare is sealed completely with no holes or crevices for the part that goes in your mouth making it way more hygienic.

I own Philips Sonicare DiamondClean 9000 series toothbrush, I also used lower end models before, I have concluded following for your reference:
1. Yes it does brush your teeth cleaner than ordinary non-electronic toothbrush, a supprising benefit is the built in timer will make sure you brush each side of your teeth long enough(it will vibrate in a different way once in a while to let you know you should move on to next side).
2. You still need to floss your teeth, electronic toothbrush is not magic.
3. I find different brushing "mode" make little difference.
4. There are a lot of fake sonicare brush head on the market.
5. Philips made an attempt to remind you change tooth brush head with their newer generations by embeding a small NFC chip in the brush head, a small icon will light up each time you put on an "overused" brush head. Luckily unlike some printer company their DRM will not stop you brushing your teeth. Theoretically, though, this NFC chip is to help remember preference if you share the handle with family memebers by putting on different brush head.
6. Lower end models are engineered to fail, mainly because of the poor water seal.

Whenever that happens I just contact support and they send me new ones. I've had 3+ sent to me for free. Even out of warranty.
A cash back site is at 10.5% too so that's another $20 off. Pretty slick.

Same experience, their customer support is great. My DiamondClean 9750 had issues out of the box, sent me a replacement which also had issues, but my third one has been working perfectly for the past 3 years.
The app was actually useful to me, dentist said I was scrubbing too fast but app helped me kick that habit by warning me when I did so.
Only complaints are the TongueCare+ brush head is impossible to find and sometimes brush heads will break early (loud noise), but very overall happy with it.
If I didn't already have the 9750, would get this for the compact travel case... The one that came with mine takes up too much space, but battery lasts 2 weeks so mostly leave it at home.

This. Phillips warranty is great and their support will send you a new one pretty much whenever you ask. I had a funny situation happen with one of mine. I owned a black sonicare diamondclean that stopped charging. Did a warranty claim and they told me they did not have any black in stock. All my replacement heads were black, so I asked what other colors they had. Turns out they had purple. So I asked to get that one instead of black. Few days later I get a package and it's a sliver brush. Message them again saying I wanted a black or a purple one. They say OK. Two days later I get two packages: one black and one purple. Got 3 new brushes instead of one.
