    I purchased the orange/black set this summer for a hike in Yosemite. The price was right and I figured I would not use them that much after that trip. During my descent, I lost my balance and bent one of the poles while catching myself. I emailed Cascade Mountain directly from their website and they sent me replacement parts for free. Great customer service. My experience was one where I would have no problem purchasing from their store via Amazon.

    As I know Cascade Mountain Tech is a solid budget brand and has been in the business for years. You can find them in Costco (the carbon fiber version).

    Also, you cannot really expect durability from hiking poles at this price point. If you really need durable poles (ex: week+ hiking trip with no supply points) than you need to look at $150+ price point. For a pair of sub $30 poles for normal hiking and weekend trip these should do the job.

    I recommend paying for the $19.99 ones that adjust with a lever instead of twisting. It also gives you cork grip instead of EVA foam.

    Fair enough. Yikes. I did a deeper dive on trekking poles though and it looks like all of them under $100 had pretty horrible reviews. Looks like you'd need to spend about $150 before finding very good poles.

    Just make sure u find some with cork grips and the tips are actually tungsten. Everything else doesn't matter in a cheap pole.

    Bought a few in the 25-30 range and had no issues for years. Even fakespot has them on B. I get its not a science, but it worked for me pretty well.

    Wow! They shouldn't have replaced them for you, it's not the sticks fault you lost your balance. The pole likely saved you a broken wrist or leg and did it's job, it broke so you didn't. Imagine an auto dealer replacing your vehicle because it slip down out off the road on a rainy day and crashed it, then you getting a replacement for it. Unbelievable and unreasonable request you made.

    There are some Chinese poles sold on aliexpress that I absolutely love for under $40. Carbon fiber and each weighs ~190 grams (lightweight polls make a huge difference). The brand is HDMFUL. The tips are fine, but I usually cut them off and press on the black diamond tips a 15 dollar upgrade.
