I've never seen one, does itReally look like a meteor shower?(I don't know how to convey sarcasm in text ) If I put something like this on the porch To make the house more visible, would it look classy or trashy? Would be good if it would scare away the raccoons and other critters. The pictures on the tree don't look too good but I don't know what it looks like when they flash or whatever they do.
I really do need something to scare away critters at night, something flashy on a motion detector maybe, any suggestions?

I don't think decorative lights are the way to go.
Either motion activated security lights, motion activated sprinkler, or motion activated sound deterrent seems like a better fit.

But these are seven bucks! Last time I checked a long time ago for critter deterrence those types of things were too expensive...You're probably right, just saw the videos and maybe they're not flashy enough toGive a night critter a scare.I don't even think they may be usable just to mark the house to make it easy for people to find it at night because, reviewer says: "on the backside indicate that lights are not to be left unattended for long periods. I don't know anyone that would expect to have to watch their Christmas lights every night without leaving them alone while on display. That's kind of concerning. The lights are pretty but I'd probably look for some with better assembly and ones where the manufacturer has more confidence in their product than these."... I don't know if I would trust it to leave it on for short periods unattended either then

I'm thinking it's better to buy this type of stuff from home depot, Lowes, Costco and such ve online these days unless it's exact same thing. You buy these once or twice and if they are good you cna use them every year. I would prefer to pay more for quality vs cheap and throw away and create more waste. These could be greatest lights ever but no way to tell.
Those warnings might be standard too but I don't think I saw one that says don't leave unattended on any Costco ones. Maybe they mean indoors? Like kids etc?

I have some of these lights, it's my 3rd year using them. No concerns. I would argue that there's nothing extremely high-quality about the lights sold at Lowe's, HD, Big Lots, et al. A string of lights is going to go bad next year not because they were rushed out of a factory, but because the owner too hastily pulled them off the house and didn't bundle them properly, taking care to not pinch the wires. The wires ARE very thin, and if I were shopping at a local retailer, this is the main difference I'd look at in terms of quality comparison.

I think the white meteor shower lights are a lot nicer. For me, the multicolor would have to have RGB LEDs for them to create nice effects. They don't, though. Each LED is a static color. I ended up sending them back and putting white ones up.

For me, The warm white was only $7 (50% off 13.99) for the first strand. If I wanted these on the perimeter of the front of my house, I would need 5 but the 50% only applied to only 1qty. The other 3 were charged full price.

I used some of the Walmart lights (non-LED) for 9 years.. Wires were not very thin, and I wrapped them around a piece of cardboard, and stored it in the boiler room. They finally died (partially died because I think some rodent or something chewed some of the wires). I would NOT get lights with very thin wires. I only get the ones that are $7 I think right now at BJs, that are battery operated. I got those and made my own lit garlands.
