After years of using those monitor arms..I found it just easier to have 2 single arms... Much more flexible and not much extra space... And actually cost less

Does anyone know if the main pole is the same diameter as the ergotron?

That's what I've read. Do you know if Amazon sells an extra long replacement main pole? I can't seem to find one without having to buy the entire assembly.

Best luck is ebay... usually it's so expensive, I walk away laughing and empty handed.

One person in the review mention picking up a longer main pole from local Ace Hardware store. The reviewer also posted a picture.

My keepa.com alert triggered and was able to make the purchase.

Can anyone explain how to get greater flexibility movement from monitor arms when having two monitors? I find that two monitors can't be adjusted to exactly where I need them because they'll either bump into each other or have very limited movement

I have this. this is def an ergotron but the main pole is limited in height. I would agree that with two-monitored-arms have limited flexibility. but at this price... buy two?

I have one in the living room, barely holds up an iMac Pro 27". in the bedroom it barely holds a 40" LG 5k ultra wide, when tightened down. For super large ultra wides like the 49, you prob need to go ergotron HX

Unfortunately whoever gave that review is a liar. I've been looking for solutions for quite a while, trying to avoid ergotron's rip off price for their extension pole. Looks like the only cheaper options are to buy a vesa mount extension plate, or cut the existing pole and weld a pipe in the middle. What a hassle for what should be a cheap and easy product for them to sell as a standard add on. Oh well.

when COVID started they raised prices on those by 50$. At some point I saw it at 190 when I had it in cart. I told them to fark off. CCC says they were even higher than that. Ouch

The pole the arms attaches to is 35mm in diameter. It's the same pole the single ergotron arms use.
This is a common diameter for metric poles.
Look for a cheap tall monitor arm and check their reviews. Most are 35mm.
The issue is that those poles aren't very robust. The base for this ergotron is really solid. It'll never break.
I suggest getting one of those cheap poles and don't over load it. Keep the weights balanced.

You have to get two independent arms so the bases are further apart.

Are these gas springs? Do I even need gas springs? I need to hold up two (2) LG 32UK50T-W Monitors... 32-inch, 12-pounds, each.
