It's not pvc it's metal piping… the main line to a septic from the boiler room. Thanks in advance for your help

Ah, gotcha — yeah for metal then definitely something burlier like a proper pipe wrench. I've only ever lived in '70s houses, so metal pipes are foreign to me Wink

Whats the benefit of this vs a regular pipe wrench? The angle how the pipe fits?

I worked with plumbers for like 20 years and never met one that used these offset wrenches nor needed one

If it has a square cap a big cresent wrench will work.

Yes. It works in tight spaces better than regular pipe wrench.
