Unfortunately Amazon likes to confuse buyers by including multiple DIFFERENT items on one page. That results in reviews from different items included all together. They even allow third party marketplace sellers to create additional garbage listings to inflate the page product listings.

To find out the reviews on this specific product do the following (which Amazon makes it so cumbersome intentionally)....

1. Scroll down the page until you see comments. Comments are seperated from US/English review buyers and Foreign review buyers. Usually after the 6th to 8th English review you see a link for "See all reviews". Click that.

2. Scroll down slightly until you see the following ways to sort reviews. Go over to where the drop down menue will say "All Formats". Choose the correct product which should automatically be the item you were looking at on the main page. Should only show one listing. Click. Now you can see the reviews for that specific item. In this case 2 written reviews and 8 people who just clicked star instead of writing anything.

That would imply, once it stops smelling, it stops degrading. That's not how it works. The smell is from outgassing as it is not fully cured.

Seems like it might be good for other use cases. For this price, I'm getting a couple.

* Put two side-by-side the "long way" in bed of my PU.
* Boot/Shoe mat
* Shelf liner
* Always handy to have elastomeric pad for vibration damping under pumps/motors.
* Stair treads in garage?
* Under firewood stack on mantel

BTW, off gassing is the release of trapped gasses from mfg/cure/phase change process that usually decreases (asymptotically) over time.

Read the recent reviews guys. If its already smelling, its already degrading. VOC's and hydrocarbons are no joke. They go on to pollute our air, water and land. Most Amazonbasics items are landfill material, sadly.

Thanks! In for 1. Don't have a truck but this can be handy for many other things. E.g., use as a mat when i flip my bike upside down for adjustments, so handlebars/seats etc won't be scratched on floor.

Guys that have ordered, give us some info on how it is, it looks like the amazon reviews are from a bed mat not the tailgate cover so it may be different....or...not

Possibly useful as a mat for a bike trainer? Looks to have about the right dimensions.

This is a great amount of rubber for an upcoming project. I need a non-slip non-conductive floor for battery cells.

Would this be good for dampening noise for top loading washing machine and dryer? I want to place both on top something to prevent excessive vibrations and noise.

All plastics outgas. The rate of the outgas is all that changes. At least rubber is natural from the rubber trees and has minimal voc. The plastics in your car are all petroleum and synthetics. New car smell is all plastic outgas. I'd worry more about that then a mat in a truck bed.
If you have an issue with mats like this, what exactly do you do to avoid plastics?
