I love my Wyze cameras. Are they perfect? No. Are they perfect for their price? Yes.
Think of this way: what would deter someone more, having one $200 camera on the roof of their home? Or having 7 of these suckers on the roof, wall, lawn, gate, etc. plastered everywhere. The deterrance of having 20 Wyze cameras visible around your front yard is much more significant than like...3.

And if someone's not dettered by 20 cameras plastered around your home like a crazy person, you pissed off the wrong drug syndicate or illegal gambling operation lol.
I've had these for a year. Love them. Very easy to use and app is awesome. Nighttime video is unbelievable and color. Just found out about the light socket usb attachment so no more long cords lol. Definitely a great deal. Just buy a big sd card and I can go back 5 days or more in recorded video.

This is no doubt a dumb question, but does the light have to be "on" for the power source to usb to work?
With the Wyze version you can control whether the light is on or off or auto. Auto can be sunset to sunrise or motion/sound triggered. The socket itself obviously needs to have power on.

Anyone had success with RTSP and BlueIris software? Curious how stable/reliable direct RTSP connections are.
Kind of mixed. Running the Wyze RTSP beta, if you block them from the Internet then they'll drop off every few minutes to reset to try to get to what they want. If you let them out then they'll run OK mostly but you'll still see drops. Using the app you don't see it as much since generally you're not watching it continually and even if you happen to be if it loses signal for some seconds video in the app just kind of pauses then catches up. BI isn't as tolerant and will throw up a no signal page and take a little while to redisplay. WiFi on these cams isn't all that great. If you have marginal WiFi, then you'll see them drop off a lot.

The Wyze mini-hacks on GitHub is a better way to go for RTSP I think. It's a little more stable and gives you some more controls over the stream. Also can run an Ethernet connection that way if you want to get an adapter.

Overall, they're OK for fill-in and backup cams where you might not have anything otherwise. Wouldn't really want to depend on them

Using rtsp, it will make its video available to any device (assuming that thing can handle an rtsp stream obviously). Each Wyze camera gets a login and pwd (you specify them) for accessing the stream once you load the alternative firmware.
ah, that sounds inviting, thankyou.

Went to my HD on Friday 12/9 for a different reason. I remembered this deal. Found the card board display. Looked like they were all out of stock. But I noticed this large piece of white card board shaped like a box in the back. Had to really reach in and pulled it out and there was one of these left behind it. The box they were in was a bit dinged. the contents were perfect.

Makes me wonder if this was a employee deal to hide one for themselves and never came back for it.

This deal is on and off. I bought 1 pack when it first posted and then the price went back up to $69.

I kept checking the app because I need another pack. $35 price shows up again on app but unable online order, went to HD and the shelf is empty sold out. Surprisingly, I tried on app again and now it allows for order online and store pick up.

At this price, it's a steal

Subscription doesn't matter because you can shove a 128gb microSD card inside it and get 7+ days of recording. And on the cam plus lite plan, it records to cloud once every 5 minutes for 12 seconds, sufficient to determine whether you need to get the SD card out.

Again, if a serious crime occurs, the SD card will have all the footage you need.
How do you reject the card and then read it I've never been able to figure it out I have a Mac do I have to shut off the camera first and then click a jack in the software or what's the best way to get the files off the video card do I have to reject the card because it takes forever to play back and look through

My general thought: if I know that a package got delivered sooner, I can bring it in sooner.

The less time it's left sitting out on the porch, the less chance there is of it getting stolen.
