I bought them and they're awful. Don't hold their charge anywhere I've ever used them and the ones that came in the package aren't charged

Don't do it! That's exactly what I did and I have to change batteries every few days. They're awful!

I bought some about a month ago and they are terrible. They don't hold charge for more than a week or so, and are also physically larger than normal AA batteries. Sent them back and sticking with Panasonic eneloop from now on.

just buy from chinese seller, it would be cheaper.

these are on sale for 5.49 at IKEA , they are Japanese made and not the crap that AMAZON sells now. if you do not have an IKEA near by, they do ship..it was like $6 for me https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/ladd...-00509814/

This price is on par with the one I got BF, which was a lightning deal: $9.50 for a 12 pack.

I can tell you since I just bought them, they're not made in China or Japan. I believe they were made in Malaysia? (Above poster just confirmed this.) Definitely wasn't China or Japan.

Anyway I can't speak to the quality or how long they last, I use these cheaper ones for things like remotes etc.

As is always mentioned the IKEA LADDA series are supposedly good and I consider those my "good rechargeables".

Anyway for less than a dollar a battery who cares if they're Eneloops or not. It's better than buying Duracell or energizer which are like what, $6 a battery these days? Ridiculous.

Old video but this guy converted me to the Ikea Ladda batteries. I've used them for years and they've been stellar, which is not surprising as they're most likely rebranded Eneloops:

Rechargeable batteries are like sock for me. They seem to disappear into the void without a trace. I buy rechargeable batteries and then they're gone.

Ikea shipping is kind of weird.
Don't think they ship from a warehouse via shipping carrier?

Yup, I found that out. My family uses rechargeable batteries in all kinds of things and Eneloops have the least failure rate. Tried EBL, Tenergy, Amazon Basics etc and a lot of them failed. I mean when a lot of the Eneloops (Sanyo branded before Panasonic bought them) from 2007-08 still work today that we bought for Wii remotes, that says it all.

Also something else we found out is that the higher capacity the smaller life time cycles. According to Eneloops if it's 2500mAh it's only going to last 500 cycles, whereas 1900mAh lasts 2000 cycles. The Amazon batteries shown are 2000mAh and lists 1000 cycles so that might be right for them.

Also now that Amazon batteries aren't in Japan anymore that means they're most likely not rebranded eneloop cells anymore. They're China so they're something completely different now.

Bought 12 against all the nie sayings 2+ years ago.
They are a little bigger but still going good.
One set still in the front door Schlage more than a year already for a busy family of 6 with lots of happy trigger on the Schlage logo(lock).

Go with the IKEA LADDA. Performance wise, for 99% of devices It's like putting in a brand new Duracel Alkaline battery. They are cheap and BY FAR the best value in rechargeables. And for anyone saying my Amazom Basics from years ago are still going strong has to understand that those battereries are no longer being produced. Yes, they have the same name but are now made in a place that is NOT Japan. I have these new Amazon Basics 2000 from China and they are dead after a couple of weeks no matter what device they are in. Utter garbage

Thank you for helping me to truly evaluate this deal... it is interesting how companies will sacrifice the quality of their own product to protect or improve their bottom line which is dependent on the product in the first place. I don't like sneakiness, as this shows how the label and name are the same but the actual product has changed for the not so better... it's manipulative, and I have learned the hard way this is a form of abuse (narcissistic abuse). It does matter, these human elements in how we relate to people through the business entity. So thank you again for informing my decision better I really appreciate it.
