Curious what ppl think about this compared to the 11-inch deal that was on Target?
For context: the one on Target is the same 2021 model but 11 inch instead of 12.9 inch like this one. It was also 128GB like this one but it was for $549.99 + tax and I got 5% off with red card
So mainly want to know which is the better deal. Is the 1.9 inch extra screen size worth the $250?

Mini led is light year better than the 11 inch version. Brighter than any LCD and have the black level of a oled.

I would probably go with the 11". I've tried both and kept the 11" personally. The 12.9 is enormous and heavier and you can feel it. Also the blooming on the mini LED display was so prominent since I run my iPad in Dark Theme that I couldn't get passed it even though the screen was amazing when streaming media. It's just personal preference though.

Depend on what you value more. The screen on the 12.9 is amazing

Ok, thanks for your response. I do see the difference with the Liquid Retina XDR display in the 12.9 inch but good to know it's claimed as a "light year" better. My question was around if the deal was better in general. Sorry I got you hung up around my statement of the 1.9 inch

We have both and while the 12.9 definitely has an amazing screen I wouldn't call it light years ahead. The 11 screen is very good and unless I have them side by side I don't see much of a difference. The big thing with the 12.9 is it's size and weight. The 11 is much more portable and easier to hold while still giving you a good size screen. Unless you want to draw on it a lot or your main use case is to watch movies while the iPad is propped up (not hand held) I would prefer the 11. it's really the sweet spot on size, weight, and resulting usability.

Its an iPad...not a home theater setup. Black levels aren't really critical when used for web surfing, writing emails, social media etc. Someone using an Ipad as their primary video watching device probably doesn't care about black levels.

lol if they wouldnt care they would not be releasing ipad or samsung tablet with oled, or mini led. or smartphone (iphone, samsung etc) with oled. all of them would be the old cheap full backlight lcd ips, technology with GRAY blacks.
why are laptop switching to oled screen. and pc monitor are now getting release with oled panel. lol. but yeah no one care and no one buying those devices smh lmao

I've heard the mini led screen is worth it but that model is also much larger and heavier. I personally went with the 11 as I want it to be portable and light
I got this for $750 on BF. This is decent still though.
Hopefully good changes are coming with the 2023 version. If there is one.
I'd like to see slimmer bezels. The one on this version are huge. M3 chip. Camera in the middle while laying the ipad vertically. M3 might not come though till 2024. So there I predict no updates this year till 2024. We'll see.
I had the 11" and thought I could live with it but I was not happy with the LCD screen esp for the $ so I went with the 12.9" variant due to mini OLED screen, HDR, and true black.
Yes it is heavy to hold for portability especially with the magic keyboard BUT it does not make experience difficult with a lightweight case intended to be tested on my stomach or on bed. Quite frankly, I have already gotten accustomed to the weight of the 12.9" variant that I haven't even complained one bit because The screen compensate that greatly!

I replaced my Gen3 IPAD Pro12.9 with the 2021 Gen5 through the Costco deal on BF and I find the screen to be so much better on the Gen5. Love my iPad Pro 12.9.
