Looks like whoever got rebates purchased … gonna wait forever… it's just plain fraud… n moreover … all their employees are out of job just before holidays time… worst company n board n c-suite … they should be behind bars!!

Cute or not Costco is the only one left to go after at this point and as they are a nice enough company they "might" step in to make people whole or if there is enough pressure from a PR standpoint they "might" step in as well. If anything I am sure Wireless Advocates abruptly shutdown to preserve cash rather than end the contract which was supposedly through the end of the year. I am sure they have a nice legal loophole to not pay and weasel out of their obligations by declaring some sort of a bankruptcy. Either that or (speculation) that since Costco did not renew and had not intention they probably wanted to control the final outcome and do what was best for them.

I agree, it is very important for everyone with WA rebates ($300 BYOD and $100 add a new line) to call Costco and register your name with complaint.

Welp, tell that to UFI's [google.com] employees as well.

BTW, ne1 know if rebates would be considered as secured or unsecured debt? My initial thought is that rebates are secured as outlined in the T&C, no?

What happens if we returned the iPhone to Costco before 90 days after we received T-Mobile rebate. Bill receipt we received from Costco and they are responsible for return.

I went into Costco tonight to look for a phone for my wife for Christmas. The mobile phone kiosk was dark. I asked the manager where the wireless employees were, and he told me the third party company that runs the kiosks, Wireless Advocates, informed Costco they were shutting down this past Monday, and their employees were all laid off.
Might get tricky for those who had ordered phones and/or have rebates, but Costco is a great company. The manager said corporate emails he received said another vendor is projected to take over the mobile phone business by January 1. He said some of the emails indicated that there was an outside chance the new company could take over before Christmas.

Just so you know going forward, there is a Consumer Awareness forum for PSAs now (for a few years). Very good idea to subscribe to it for daily emails as I have done. Thanks to long-term lobbying efforts (as this is not generally going to profit SD), they finally got it for us members to share important consumer news. The Forum is a subforum under Deal Discussion. A few weeks ago a "at&t rep" cornered me in the store and said at&t had taken over all mobile sales for Costco mobile...sounded like bullshit.
