good price but my wife's 4 and even this both broke at the cheaply made clasp that connects the screen to the wristband. on the 4 we repaired with fitbit twice. the 5 we were going to do the same but she lost it at an event cause the clasp fell off.
I have this watch. The subscription just offers you more in-depth analysis of the data from the band and recommended workouts. Gps, eda, ECG, sleep tracking and all activities don't need a subscription to work.
The Fit Premium page [fitbit.com] breaks it down further but a quick overview indicates that without the subscription, "Basic insights" into "Health and fitness stats" such as activity, weight, sleep and nutrition are included for the past 7 days. Beyond that, the subscription offers:

Daily Readiness Score
Premium challenges
Stress Management Score breakdown
Health metrics trends for the past 90 days
Wellness Report
Advanced skin temperature details (Sense only)
200+ workouts
200+ mindfulness sessions
Sleep Score breakdown
Blood glucose trends

That doesn't say anything about them selling your health data. In fact it says they specific won't advertise using Fitbit data.

I feel they're junk because my $20 Chinese ebay watch has a 10x better battery life than the fitbit charge 5. The fitbit charge 5 band design is also really stupid mine fell off my wrist at work and I never found it. My mom wears a $40 Amazon bought (also Chinese made) smart watch with every feature the fitbit has and more as well as 5x better battery life. I'm glad you enjoy your fitbit though nothing wrong with that. I enjoyed my fitbit charge 2 the most though except the band had durability issues.
What one do you have? My charge 4 has likes across the screen but it out of warranty. I would like something that has a better battery life too. I charge mine probably every 4-5 days or so.

Two posts in a year and you come up with that... WHY do you feel they're junk?

Wore a Charge 3... and then a Charge 4 for year. Both worked great and never gave me any issues. Cheap... reliable... and good (5 day) battery life. Just got the Amazon deal on the Sense 2 and am quite happy with it.

Wife has an Inspire 2 (replaced an Inspire HR that did die after 18 months, but was under extended warranty) that's been great as well... small, functional and 1 week battery life.
What was the Amazon deal on the Sense 2?

For a short time, they sold the Sense 2 for $80. They shipped a bunch at that price and then cancelled a bunch of orders as being a 'price mistake'. Limit was 1.

I got one, my wife's order got cancelled. However, they did give her a $40 promo credit.

If you want a Fitbit seriously check out what Garmin has to offer instead. You can get a Vivofit, Vivoactive or Instinct for a little more. The features and accuracy of these wearables really beat out Fitbit. I switched a few years ago and will never go back to FitBit.

Plus on the Fitbit Charge 5, they got rid of altimeter so there's no stairs climbed metric anymore. They literally are stripping away features.

Thanks for that point as i love the stairs metric and I take the stairs all the time so I want to know! So I'm not upgrading for my charge for until they bring it back or I'll switch to another

The deal is dead. It's 119.99 now. They waited until Christmas day to raise the price by 30. Oof. At least it is still available at Amazon for 99.99

For those that buy this later and look at this deal for comments I wanted to make it official: This item (charge 5) is eligible for costco's standard return policy (vs the 90 days on watches) as slightly more than 6 months after receiving my charge 5 it is now frequently not detecting my heart rate (I think my heart is still consistently beating) and the online return/replacement worked (for a replacement) without having to speak to an associate. As such I *STRONGLY* recommend buying these from costco vs any other online retailer even for a bit more $.
